we went away for 3 weeks and had someone taking care of our house why we was away now mind you we have 3 cats and a rabbit and a water turtle so we come back home and we find that we are infested with fleas and cant seem to get ride of them any ideas pleasesss we are being eaten alive and going crazy with 2 small kids thanks!!

I have been in your same situation and I promise you the ONLY thing you have to get is ADVANTAGE. That's ALL! No bombs, no Frontline, JUST Advantage and when the fleas are dead on the pets, (usually within 24 hours) they die off in your house since theres no animal to live on. Don't waste your money on bombs and make a big smelly mess in your house, which can be very dangerous if you don't do everything right.
Frontline is "good" but if you don't have any problems with ticks you don't need Frontline. Advantage if for fleas only, we've used it for YEARS and it's wonderful. In fact, when our kitty was neutered recently, the vet only carries Frontline now, so I went ahead and got it since the fleas were getting pretty bad and of course, just like in the past, my pets still have fleas a week later. So when the month is up, I'm gonna go back to the place I usually get Advantage from and use that again. Normally, I only have to use it once during the entire flea season. I promise you, it's the best out there! Take care and good luck!
frontline for your furry friends- it can seem pricey- but it beats the tar out of what the fleas will do to your cats and your home (and consequently you and your little ones)
Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. Be sure to dump the bag or canister outside after you vacuum because fleas are so small they can find a way out. Treat all the animals with a flea killer like Frontline. Good luck.
One of my friends had the same problem. What you will need to do is to go to petsmart and get a bomb to get rid of the fleas. Have the rabbit outside if possible and put the cats in the bathroom,close the door and put a towel along the bottom of the doorway so the fumes do not come in. You will then need to leave for about two to three hours when you set off the bomb. Use the frontline on the cats. After you use the bomb then make sure to air the house out for about an hour.
Avon Skin So Soft will help repel the fleas, and you're best bet is to get out of the house for a few days an fog it. This happened to me once and it's the only thing that worked.
I am a veterinarian - you need to get Frontline from your vet and treat all the furry creatures in the house (they have it for cats but not for rabbits, but I've heard of it being used off-label - I would check with your vet to make sure it's okay.) I'm not just saying this because Frontline is sold at vet hospitals - it really does work the best and it's totally safe. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a 3-year-old and it's the only flea product I trust and recommend. It's a topical spot-on that you need to apply monthly. Beware of over-the-counter spot-ons that you buy at Walmart, etc. because they are not the same thing. They can be extremely toxic, especially to cats, and can cause both local irritation (burns, etc.) and neurological reactions (twitching, seizures, etc.) Same goes for sprays, dips, flea collars, etc. They can make your pet very ill.
If there is any bedding that they use, I would just toss it. You can vacuum with a flea collar in the bag, then throw away the bag.
As for treating the house, if you are that badly infested, I would call a professional exterminator - they are going to do a much better job than you can do yourself buying a bunch of sprays, foggers, etc. and should guarantee their work, so if it does not help, they should re-treat at no charge.
I went through the same thing. BE CAREFUL! The fleas killed my cat! She became endemic! We have to call an exterminator. Chem Whise is who we called because they're ecologically friendly and not so harsh on the kids. They were gone in a day! My baby was eaten up so bad it looked like she had chicken pox!
