I am thankful that my dad made it through his heart attack alive and that my children still have an opportunity to get to know this wonderful man, their grandfather.
I am so thankful this year for my 3 kids, my friends and family. I am most greatful that the worst health issues we as a family have to mention is my whopper of coldsores right now. G-pa stable, no change which is good; G-ma , Anuts Uncles, Kids & Friends = Healthy. Just this sore 1 on my lip (I look like I got into a fight with Mohamed Ali and loss) 1- In my nostril and now my entire lower eyelid is a big cold sore. I am thankful this is all I have to complain about. What a blessing.
Bring on Turkey Day
Happy Thanksgiving all,
It was great to hear all the things we are thankful for. Thank you everyone who responded, and as a funny addition Today I am thankful for COFFEE!!! LOL.
I am thankful that my dad made it through his heart attack alive and that my children still have an opportunity to get to know this wonderful man, their grandfather.
I am thankful I am not homeless, I am thankful I have food in the fridge (it may not be my fav's but it's nutritious), I am thankful my daughter is in rehab and trying to make life changes, I am thankful I have heat in this cold weather, I am thankful that I am having the opportunity to help raise J and K, that I am part of their lives, and I am thankful I am able to say I love you to my friends and family....
I am thankful for my 2 crazy boys, my friends and family, and that my mom after a long fight can say that she is a breast cancer survivor!
I'll tell you a special thing I'm thankful for. My children are grown, so they don't always like to admit they still have a mother (or MIL). I am useful to them on occasion, and I do my best to behave nicely all the time.
One of my children is a very gifted - brag, brag - elementary school teacher. Last night she was over here to double-check some proofreading she's doing for a friend who is writing a book. We talked about serial commas and other such interesting topics, and I mentioned that her teachers taught her those things well when she was growing up. She replied, "So did you! Thank you for that! And thank you for sending me to speech therapy when I was a kid. One of the boys I'm teaching is doing therapy, and I have been able to encourage him from my own experience."
Tears fill my eyes as I write this, and my heart will be extra-warm this Thanksgiving!
I am thankful for my nuclear family (my husband and our beautiful, healthy 3 children), and all of our good health! Also, I am thankful that my husband has job security in this horrible economy. Last but certainly not least, I am thankful that I don't live close to family - both mine and his! :)
I am thankful for another trip around the sun and all that that entails.
I am thankful for my hard headed, defiant 2 year old, my husband who takes care of us even when he is stressed to the max.
I am also thankful I have my mom for one more Thanksgiving and Christmas. She has heart issues and we just had another scare so it really puts things in perspective.
I am thankful for my 3 wonderful, smart, healthy and funny kids. I am thankful for my extremely supportive extended family. I am thankful for my cozy little house that has been a blessing to me and my kids during a major adjustment period in our lives. I am thankful for my great job, co-workers and boss - can't imagine a more supportive work environment!
I am thankful that I had a job to get up and go to this morning.
I am thankful that I have enough money to pay someone I really trust to watch my 2 y/o.
I am thankful that my 6 year old loves his 1st grade teacher and couldn't wait to get on the bus this morning.
I am thankful for the amazing man I have been with for 16 years. He is an amazing father and wonderful husband.
I am thankful for my family and friends who have supported us and loved us unconditionally.
I am thankful for yet another day God has given us to be together!
I'm thankful to be 7 years out of treatment and still cancer free. I'm thankful that my husband's eye surgery was successful and he's had no deterioration in vision. I'm thankful that my 2 great kiddos (11 and 15) are doing so well in school this year.
Have a wonderful holiday everyone.
I am thankful for my wonderful 3 year old healthy baby girl. For my husband who loves me unconditionally and cares for us. I am also thankful for my loving parents that even though they are far, I know they are there for us. The love they show to my daughter, who is their first and only granddaughter. I am also thankful for our health, for our jobs and for the roof over our heads. For going strong in the tough economy.
I'm thankful that my husband and I have made it thru 9 yrs of marrige and are still best friends. I'm thankful that my children are healthy, smart, caring little people that are cool and actually lots of fun to spend time with at ages 6 and 8. We will spend the Thanksgiving holiday playing games and baking cookies together. I'm thankful for my home and money to buy groceries. I'm thankful for being happy!
Just for fun, I'm grateful for skin! Can you imagine what we'd all look like without it?
Family dinner (at the diinner table) every night for a full month!
of course i am SO thankful for my family, the wonderful little man my son is becoming, the roof over our heads, the food in our bellies, our good health and the love and friendship that surrounds us.
this year, i am also thankful that after six months i finally figured out what was causing my hands to break out in painful blisters that just kept coming back, each time worse. i figured out it was the soap at work, brought my own, and haven't had a moment of pain since! Thank God!
I am also SO thankful that God made me tough enough to deal with all the stupid decisions i have made in my life. :) my personal little blessing.
LIFE IS GOOD! thank you for posting this question K.!
I am thankful for...
- My son who is a healthy and happy little boy
- My husband who graciously makes my aspirations possible without complaining
- My parents for continuously reminding us that a solid marriage is the foundation for a solid family and that it TAKES WORK!
- The health of my immediate family
- We are both employed
- My housekeeper... we couldn't live our life without her!
- Story Time at the library b/c once a month I have a "date night" with my little guy
- Saturday Mommy-and-Me swim lessons b/c I get 1:1 time with my boy
I am thankful for so very many things in my life. But right now, at this very moment, I'm most thankful that I'm DONE with my Thanksgiving grocery shopping!
I am thankful for my 1 yr old daughter... She was the one that convinced me to go back to college. I never really had a plan before her. She is simply the tiniest thing I ever put my whole life into.
I am very thankful for my awesome supportive family. Without them I don't know how I would make it. Im glad that my daughter will always know what a loving family is. They are the most generous and genuine people I know, and Im glad to be a part of them.

This year there is so much to be thankful for. My wonderful family,
supportive friends, grandchildren. I feel truly blessed. Kidneys not so
great but that is OK. No control over that so I do not let it interfere with
my life. It could always be worse. So I am thankful for my health.
I have been married forf 35 years to the love of my life. I am thankful
for the laughter he brings and for his undying love for me.
First I'm thankful to K. E. for putting this question out there!
I'm thankful for my beautiful girls, who, though have given me heartaches, headaches and lack of sleep, have also taught me patience, a love beyond imagination and that life is worth living.
I'm thankful for my husband who loves me and our children. Who works countless hours to make sure we have a roof over our heads, food on our tables, heat, clothes and everything that we want.
I'm thankful for my parents, though my mother drives me crazy sometimes and I don't get to see my dad very often, I know they love me.
I'm thankful that my brother and sister have found the strength to start to face their demons.
I'm thankful for all my in-laws. They're a great group of people whom love me and my family and treat me as if I've always been a part of their family.
I'm thankful that I have a good job to go to, where people appreciate the work that I do and that somewhere down the line, it makes a difference in other people's lives.
I'm thankful for my friends. The ones that are there for me, who live close and who live far, who make me laugh, who make me cry, take me out for a drink when I need one and even when I shouldn't.
I'm thankful for everything--kids, husband , family, friends even in-laws and having enough for a decent quality of life. I'm especially thankful for my 90 year old grandma who is still very alert involved with her family in spite of health issues.
I wanted to respond that I sometimes get nasty cold sores too. They improve a lot faster for me when I take lysine supplements. If I catch it before the sore comes up fully it sometimes never gets to be a sore. I take 2 or 3 tablets up to 3 times a day the first day and then 2x a day until the sore is gone.
