I am looking for some “special” things to do in the Western Burbs or downtown Chicago with my daughter. Any fun princess or children geared salons. She loves princess, skating getting her hair done, baby dolls, tumbling. Very much a girly girl.
She is our only daugther and after two boys I don't know all the cool places to take girls. Someone recenly told me about a salon geared towards girls in Oakbrook.

What can I do next?

American Girl Place is a very awesome place for girls. They have a theater, you can have afternoon tea, lunch or dinner with reservations. I believe they have a doll salon as well. www.americangirlplace.com
Good luck and have fun!

I used to take my daughter to Sweet and Sassy in Texas. I just googled it and they have a location in Oakbrook and another location near Chicago. We used to get her hair done, her nails done and there was a little shop full of fun girly stuff.

I say the American Girl Store--but only if you have a lot of money to part with!

I like all of the other suggestions you already got. You might want to check out Boozle B's in Plainfield too. It looks really cute.

I vote for the Anerican Girl Doll Place as well. If she doesn't have a doll yet, maybe wait until she gets one. If she does, you can bring the doll and have lunch with your doll. You need reservations for that, it's not cheap and the food let's just say us nothing special, but it's a special day for the two if you.

My girls both have AG dolls & bitty babies. We took them to the one in the Mall of America. Daddy told them they could each get one thing, except no furniture or another doll. They were so overwhelmed by the amount of things, they couldn't pick anything.:) We spent easily an hour looking around, it's a neat place. They both ended up with Bears from Build a Bear. That was fun too! They loved picking their bear, stuffing it, giving it a heart and name. It was a lot of fun for them.

I'm sure the Nutcracker is playing somewhere. Take her to see it.

Just shopping on MI Ave will be fun for a girly girl! Go to the old Marshall Field's - now Macy's-it's huge...see all the holiday lights, etc....

Just a fun day with mom and anything will be fun.

Safari Snips on Rte 59 & 95th St. in Naperville has kid salon packages/parties.

When it gets colder, the ice skating rink at Milennium Park will open. In late December/early January Navy Pier will have Winter Wonder Fest, and they have a skating rink there too.

Yes, the Sweet & Sassy salon in Oakbrook Center is definitely a very girly place. She can get her hair done with sparkles, tinsel, get her hair & make-up done--tons of fun for a girly-girl.
