Jazzercise is great! I did it when I was training for a triathlon and it helped. They usually can provide childcare if you need it for a small fee (like $2 or $4).
Hello Everyone!
I have a request on activities in the Remond, Sammamish or Issaquah areas for Aerobic classes. I am currently training for 1/2 marathon at the end of June but I would like to have a variety of different Aerobic activities in my plan other than running and walking. I have severel DVDs for other workouts but to do it at home seems impossible with a 15 month old running around. I would like to do an evening class somewhere but I can't seem to find any classes. Does anyone know of any? Also it is another activity for me as a SAHM could do a couple nights a week just to get out of the house. THanks for your help!

I am starting a Strollercize (mom and baby fitness) class on mercer island June 5th. If you are interested for a way to meet some moms, get outside and get some exercise, feel free to contact me directly. (I have taught similar classes before my baby and am now super excited to start it with my baby.) All levels can join and options will be given for different fitness levels. email is ____@____.com name is R....
I would also recommend trying Jazzercise. You can visit www.jazzercise.com to find classes in your area. I have been jazzercising for about 10 years now. It is fun way to get into shape!
Hi,
I was doing Jazzercise in the Kirkland area for awhile and I know they have some classes in Redmond. It's a fabulous way to work out (you can put as much or as little as you want into it) and you meet lots of other women.
Here's a link.

It was an exercise class that actually put a smile on my face as I was exercising.

Have you thought about looking into a local YMCA's gym facilities? The one in Bothell that I go to has treadmills, bikes (upright and reclined) ellipticals, lots of weight machines, and a pool. I'm adding some links for YMCA's that I think are near you.

Hope this helps,

Hi A.,
Try out the classes at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. They have many different classes to choose from and they are mostly run through Redmond Parks and Rec at varying times throughout the day.
Good luck!

Hi A.,
I go to Eastside Kickboxing & Pilates in Issaquah. Check them out at http://www.eastsidekickboxing.com/. They do evening and Saturday classes, and they just introduced classes for kids too. This is a great workout and it's fun. They have monthly dues or you can buy a punchcard.
I don't know if it is different enough from the walking/running that you are already doing, but Stroller Strides might be of interest to you. It is a combination of brisk walking, running, and strength exercises with bands. AND you get to do it with your little one(s) and other moms. The instructor is great. I have always been a runner, but still find this class to be a pretty good workout and nice to get out with other moms. Classes start near Central Park in the Issaquah Highlands. Check out the webpage.

You can also find fitness classes through the local community colleges like Lake Washington Technical College and BCC. I know that BCC offers some classes that are held at the Sammamish Club in Issaquah. Have fun!
Issaquah pool. Lap swimming. Great cardio, low impact. My son joined the swim team to get in shape for track during the winter, took 40 seconds off his mile time. Will swim during the summer in conjunction with is x-country training. Older son also swims in training for his marathons. Still runs, but adds the lap swims to his program. The pool is downtown Issaquah, next to Issaquah Middle School. Best of luck on your 1/2 marathon!!
