Good Family Physician for a Regular Saturday Office Visit? Does This Exist???

I love my Dr. But the office is killing me. They are charging an extra $20 on TOP of the co-pay, etc. for their "Urgent Care" hours which include Saturdays.

I am on a new insurance that has a $50 copay for Urgent care. So financially it makes more sense to just go to CareNow and pay $50 there vs. $70 at my Dr.'s office.

Minute clinic sees you for your regular office visit fee no matter when you go in. But I could treat myself using the internet better than them (already tried them out).

I want to find a physician that has regular office hours on Saturdays where you just pay the office visit co-pay. Prefer Murphy, North Richardson, or East Plano but willing to travel to someone GOOD that's in family medicine, one that can see me and my babypoo.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Not all pediatricians have hours that end at 4P on weekdays. My husband could never go to an appmt during work hours so I found Pediatric Associates of Dallas http://www.padnewsletter.com/. They have late night hours till 9P and Saturdays too. It's real hard to get a regular appmt on a Sat though. They have a Dallas and Plano location. We use Dr. Dreiling and think he and the staff are all easy to talk with and provide a comfortable atmosphere.

Hi C.-

We used to go to Firewheel Family Practice over in Sachse. It is off Hwy. 78 almost to George Bush, so it shouldnt be too far for you. I believe they are open every Sat. from 8-12. They charge the normal co-pay. We have since moved so we no longer go there. They are not a pediatric office, but if your daughter has an ear infection, something like that, then at least you could get the meds and gets started on them. If you really like your DR. I would keep going to him and then just use Firewheel as the back-up for Sat. illnesses unless you find that you like Firewheel better!

I've been to my doctor on a Saturday before, and from what I understand, he will see you on Saturdays for the same price (they rotate between the few doctors in the practice for weekend services). I really like him. He is located at Caruth and 75 though in Dallas. His name is Dr. William H. Moore ###-###-####. He also answers all after-hour phone calls directly from him cell phone--no answering service--unless he's out for some reason (only about 5% of the after hours calls).
