Covenant Church in Carrollton has Celebrate Recovery. The church is on Trinity Mills, just before Kelly. There is also the Neotropolis (Neo) at Old Denton & I90. The Neo is where most of the meetings are.
We are recently going through having a loved one at a treatment center for drug addiction. Praise God he chose to go and is doing well. Does anyone have a good NA or other support group that meets during the week near Coppell or Carrollton? Any suggestions on Books or reading material? We are getting great help from the treatment center but they also said it would be good to find another support group near our home. Just talking and discussing things have helped us tremendously. We are not angry or resentful, more sad because we miss him and hopeful for success. Thanks in advance for your understanding and concern.

I belong to an online Naranon group. It is a really great group for the family of the addict. If you want I can email you the group to join. God Bless you and your family. Its a tough road.

is an awesome class and you have great friends after...several were in the group that had this background and this program really kept them on track and they loved the bond formed out of the group. Good luck.

I have unfortunately lots of knowledge with addiction. It is a long dark road with relapse just around the bend. You need to find an AA group not NA.Sometimes NA has people that have been court ordered into their group so they sell drugs out the back door. AA people can buy alchol anywhere so they have less chance for relapse at AA. You need to find you a good al-non group as well. Good luck. Pray daily and turn this over to God because you can't fix it.

I do know that the AA Carrollton Group on I-35 and Belt Line is very strong. The 12-step program is good for all addicts so if he is committed to sobriety, this group is particularly great. You can go to www.aa.org to find more information on meeting times. Good luck!
If there are children involved the Betty Ford Center- 5 Star Kids program is GREAT! They help the kids understand what addiction is, that it isn't thier fault, that they can't control a person's addiction and a lot of other invaluable information. The phone number is ###-###-#### (located in Iriving- they are having a program in December in the Irving office, but go to different sites around the DFW metroplex each month).
You can also call them for referrals to Al- Anon, counseling and some group counseling (with counselors experienced in addiction issues- not all of them are).
Good Luck and God Bless for looking for support for your entire family.
Stone Bench Al Anon is a great support group for family and friends of addicts. You can find information on this group at www.stonebench.org. I have found it very helpful for me.
