I live near Alma & McDermott. Any great suggestions of neighborhoods with wonderful light displays that are not too far from this area?

Suncreek located at Alma/Hedgcoxe and Twin Creeks located at Twin Creeks and McDermott.
Deerfield is also very nice.

Eldorado neighborhood in McKinney. Come up 75 and exit Eldorado go west. Turn Right into Eldorado where the elementary school is and there are amazing lights. Each street is done on a theme. Doing just Eldorado will take up your evening there is so much to see. We are definetly taking our 5 year old back there this year.
Deerfield in Plano has the best display in the area. You can even take horse-drawn carriages through the neighborhood, if you like. The community is just off Legacy between Coit and Preston. Have fun!

If you want to see something really awesome, come to Lost Creek (off of exchange before angel parkway) my neighbors house has an awesome show. The lights are choreographed to music. Here is their website and it will give you more info.
