Hello,
I live on the South West side of McKinney.....I would like to have the girls and I drive through lights this year.....I have never done that since we moved here----where do I start? Something good----not just the typical neighborhood that every third house is lit up....suggestions?
WOW, I have been looking at all these options and we are going to start this week!!! I can't wait. Thank you so much. The Carriage ride in Highland Village is going to wait for us next year----we already planned Gaylord ICE so we can't afford $160 right now for that but I am stoked that it was mentioned...I am making a Christmas Light File to keep on hand.....keep bringing the ideas...I am so excited. As a side note, This week December 10-12 First Baptist of McKinney is having a drive through Christmas drama; starts at 6PM I believe.....what a fun area to live in!!! Thanks Ladies.....
Highland Park is the best in my opinion. We ride through it every year.
The best one is Deerfield in Plano.
Deerfield is located in Northwest Plano between Preston Rd. and Coit Rd. Enter from Legacy on Colonnade or Archgate.
It is quite busy, and so worth it!! We go at least two or three times every year.
My kids' favorite is in Eldorado. Each street has a different theme. There is one that is all Disney movies ... Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Cars, etc. Here is the link to the street list. http://www.eldoradohomeowners.org/category/holiday-themes/ The neighborhood entrance is off of Eldorado and Country Club, but you can mapquest it for more specifics. We also like one house in Frisco if you are out that way at night. He does the City of Friscos display and has got his own home decked out. The neighborhoods mentioned are nice. However, we LOVE to go to Highland Park and take a carriage ride through the developments. It is priceless and a great holiday treat.
There are more than 1 carriage ride companies in the area. We usually catch the one at Mockingbird/Preston and start there.
If you just do it once, it is worth it. Check them out online. Beautiful lights, carriage rides, hot cocoa, etc. great experience.
Yes it can be pricey ( I don't know this year's $$) but it is worth it at least once.
I second Deerfield it is awesome, we do it every year (a couple times a year)!
