We are going to the Great Wolf Lodge this weekend for my daughter's birthday. We are checking in on Sunday afternoon and staying until Monday are there any tips or things that we need to know what to bring that you would be really important to know before we go? Thanks so much! When I searched past questions there didn't seem to be any recent tips.great

What can I do next?

Don't get the bottom floor!! Get the top floor!! Sweet mother of god! we didn't get to sleep until after midnight because little Damion's parents thought it would be okay to let him run back and forth in the room jumping off the bed while they sipped wine on the balcony!

Never again!

Yes, they have rules of when you can't make noise, little good it does you in the middle of the night when someone is ignoring it. He was also up at seven!

If check in time is 3pm, you can access the water park as early as 11 or 12. Your room might not be ready, but you can play. Also, you can play in the water park past the check out time. You have to be out of your room, though. Food there is awful and expensive. I would go out to eat or order in take-out. The water park provides towels, so you don't have to bring your own. Get down there early to get a table and chairs--they will go quickly. People pile their stuff on them to hold them and stay all day.

There are a bunch of different packages you can buy to 'enhance' your stay...total rip off and dumb, IMO. Just stick to the water park.

There are microwaves and minifridges in the rooms, so bring breakfast items and snacks to help save on food costs. There is free wifi throughout the property which I appreciated. Ask for a room away from the main stairwell if you want a quieter stay. Be prepared for the kids to beg you to buy a wand and play the adventure/quest games. We were firm and told our kids this trip was for the waterpark, the quest game would happen on another trip. That kept mine satisfied. If you aren't prepared to let them play it, have your answer ready and stick to it because you will have to walk by all the cool game sections every time you use the elevator. Have a great time! We loved it and can't wait to go back.

I've never been. Have you looked at their Web site? As I recall it has a lot of information.

We have been to their location in Wisconsin Dells many times. It is our favorite of the many water parks there.

Like others have mentioned, you can start swimming usually after 12:00 even though check in may be at 3:00 or 4:00. They will give you your wristbands and a pager so that they can let you know when the room is ready. Pack a separate bag with your suits so you can start taking advantage of the water park right away. There are locker rooms with changing facilities in or near the water park. On our first visit, we didn't know this so we didn't pack the extra bag. We waited around for our room which wasn't ready until 7:00 PM. We were furious so they upgraded us to an amazing 3 bedroom condo.

We usually bring cereal, plastic bowls, utensils and a half gallon of milk along with bananas, granola bars etc...so that we can have breakfast and snacks in the room. The food is overpriced and not that good. We bring bottles of water and snacks down to the water park in our beach bag. We've never had anyone tell us we couldn't even though the signs say no outside food or beverages.

They provide life vests which we always took advantage of. The lifeguard there are excellent, but you can't be too careful. The wave pool gets crazy when it's crowded. If your kids aren't strong swimmers, they should be wearing one.

If your kids are little, take advantage of the story time by the clock tower in the evening. It's so cute, and oh, the memories it will make. My 12 yr old wanted to go down for it the last time we were there just for old time's sake.

If you have the time, you can get an extra day at the water park by staying all day on the day you check out. You are allowed to do that. We usually check out of our room at 10:00 or 10:30 am, and pack that beach bag with our change of clothes. We stay at the water park until about 4:00, hit whatever fast food place is closest, then get on the road for the 3 hour trip home.

Enjoy! We really love GWL!

The restaurant at the Williamsburg, VA location was awful for the amount of money you pay. I suggest either bringing some food, or looking around the local area for places to eat. The Williamsburg location had a Dunkin Donuts and that is where we ate breakfast after a horrible dinner the night before.
