Growth Spurt - Chesterfield,MO

Every time my 12 week old son goes through a growth spurt he seems to eat less and sleep more. The exact opposite of what I read was normal. He normally eats 4 oz. every 3-4 hours. Now he is drinking 2 oz. every 4 hours and not because he is crying for food, just because I make the bottle and feed it to him every 4 hours. But he never really seems to be hungry. He is happy and not crying, just sleeping a lot. Has this happened to anyone else's baby during growth spurts?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

What really worries me is the eating less, and not even being hungry

Absolutely. Mine would usually eat a bit more for awhile, and then just sleep a ton! I was prying them out of bed to get some food in them. Totally normal.

Just saw your update. Has there been a change after 11 days? My daughter will cry when she wakes up hungry, but if she is held, she is usually fine, and doesn't act hungry...I just know that she is.

My son is Mr FEED ME SEYMORE like the alien plant in Little Shop of Horrors and stores it in his cute buddah belly then when he is done storing food for the spurt he eats less and passes OUT COLD for a few nights a week and we need new pants! So each body is different, and if it goes on for more than a week or two I would talk to the Dr. about it.

Yes. My kids all did that. Don't worry. Just when ever he starts sleeping more than usual, start buying cloths in the next size ! LOL !
As he gets older and is eating solid foods, make sure that what he does eat during these times is healthy for him.
