That is why steam mops were invented, well a couple other reasons but they are very good at removing built up stuff.

The mirror has the build up and I sprayed it with vinegar and water and scraped it with a razor blade. I don't know that I would suggest that with your floor. After you get it up, you might trying putting down a throw rug. Winter is coming anyway and the floor will be cold. Perfect timing.

Hot water, a mop, and elbow grease

Depending on the type of surface you are working on... rubbing alcohol and pure acetone nail polish remover work well on things like that. Of course, test a small area first to make sure you don't cause a discoloration of the floor that can't be fixed.

Maybe use a steam cleaner or magic eraser.

What do you normally use to clean your floors?
I like Mr. Clean or Murphy's Oil Soap for my tile floors and don't have issue with hairspray build up.

I've been using tub & tile spray cleaners that contain bleach - not sure if the bleach matters, but it works. Depending on what type of flooring material you have, I usually let it sit for a few minutes and it usually wipes off pretty easily. You may have to apply it again if it's a lot of build-up.

I use my Shark Steam Mop now but I used to use hot soapy water and a big string mop.

Rubbing alcohol will dissolve hairspray buildup.

Buildup on the floor means a lot of product is in the air and falling downward, instead of landing on the hair and doing the intended job.

If this is a reoccurring problem, the ladies in your home should think about ways to fix the issue. If they use aerosol, maybe they switch to a pump to use less product. Or if controlling the direction of a pump is a problem, an aerosol might be easier to handle.

I get that too and I just spray a bunch of 409 on it and let it sit for 15 minutes or so, then mop like normal. It comes right off my tile floor.
