I know you have had a ton of responses but thought I would give my advice as well. I feel tired all the time as well, I have two girls, am a full time student taking 16 hrs and my hubby works until 8pm. I went to the Dr a few weeks ago and he recommended I take stresstabs, they are vitamin you can find at most drug stores. It took a couple weeks before I have really noticed a difference but I am feeling better. I can't drink the energy drinks because of a heart problem, I can't have all the caffiene and energy additives they have but they do work for my hubby. Good Luck and it will get better.
I take a pharmaceutical-grade vitamin pack and have a couple of NRGgo3 fizzy tablets in a cup of water 2-3 times a day. Both of these are from Arbonne. The tablets just came out January 1st and there is nothing else on the market like them. They give me a feel-good sense of being, energy, and offer an appetite suppressant too. No ephedra, hoodia, aspartame, etc. or anything bad for you--no calories either. Let me know if you want more info.

Get some rest!!!! I realize that in these days, it is almost expected to "do it all!" From a mother of 4 who had health problems, tried to work full time, and did not sleep, I am paying for it, big time!!! Re-evaluate your life, what means the most to you and how to obtain it, then try for 8 hours of sleep at night, our most relaxing time that our bodies are geared towards. Cat naps don't cut it, an hour here and there doesn't cut it!! I tried working nights at our hospital for 14 years, husband watched the kids---then tried to nap an hour or so a day! Doesn't cut it! There is NO substitute for a good night's sleep, if you can't relax, get help, exercise some, take a walk and enjoy nature, eat balanced and TIMED meals, not a bite here and there---it isn't fullfiling or gratifying and we nibble, then wonder why we gain weight, thus adding to our fatigue and self dislike, working harder to make up those weary feelings, and that doesn't work either!! Love yourself, then your family, prayer helps, but if you don't couple it with self love and respect, that won't cut it either!!! " Been there, done that!!!" P. Roth, kansas (75 years youngish, but oh, so TIRED__STILL-__It doesn't go away just because you are older and NOW have time to rest----Rest and respect yourself while you still can and survive!!)
first try to get a little exercise. my daughter likes the gatarade that has 20% caffine in it. green tea helps. you have to give it a chance. it first taste funny but it is good after that. take time for your self too.
Diet Rock Star gets me through the day
Hi S.,
Have you tried energy drinks. Arbonne has a great one that is safe and doesnt have all the caffine that regular energy drinks have. You can see more information on my website.
Try having your DR test your iron level. Another thing is to get some ginsing supplements. I think the Korean Ginsing is the one that boosts your energy level. Cut back on your caffeine intake, and high sugar intake, as those will cause you to "crash". Also, drink more water. I chase after 3 year old twin boys, and I have three kids of my own, believe me, I know about lack of energy, but I've noticed I have a lot more energy, now that I drink more water, and have cut way back on empty calories and cafeine. Good luck!!!

Hi S.,
I take B12. I believe it really helps me. It's cheap and over the counter. For about $6.00/month you can get sublingual (under the tongue) tablets. The other thing I would suggest is maybe at lunchtime, a few day per week, try to go for a brisk walk. After a few weeks of exercising, it really does help build up your endurance. With 2 little ones and a full time job, that's a full plate for both of you. Maybe some chores after work can wait till the weekend, or hubby can help out a bit more in the evenings. Maybe you can do some prep work on the weekend to make dinner time easier when you get home at night. If possible maybe you can get some help with housework, even once a month to do deep cleaning will help. Hopefully, you can manage some time to yourself to fill up again. Is it possible you are having any health issues? Hopefully not. Blood sugar levels, anemia all kinds of things can cause you to be tired. I had 2 kids 1 year apart. I do understand. It totally exhausts you some days. Good Luck.
You may have a health issue. After having three kids myself I had the same symptoms. I went and had a check up and some lab work and found out my thyroid was not functioning properly. It can really make you feel very tired. Well I hope that's not it and that it is just raising a family, which is the hardest job. J.
I don't think there's a magic recipe--when you're busy, you get tired. Make sure to try to get a good amount of sleep if you can, eat bananas for energy, drink water, take a bubble bath, and exercise will energize you (though it may take a little encouragement to get started since you're tired). Carbs, sugar and caffeine all give you an artificial, short-lived boost and can sometimes take away from the long-term energy source that can be produced naturally in your body. Easier said than done, I know. Good luck.
First of all, eat well. Many people who work full time eat too much junk! Pack a balanced lunch and eat a good breakfast (fruit, 1/2 a bagel...something like that). Have a small snack during the day...fruit, pretzels, etc. Many people make the mistake of eating "energy bars" and they are filled with sugar and processed flour...you might as well eat a candy bar! It may be quick energy, but it fades fast and takes more energy with it! Also, get up and move around if you get the chance. Walk on breaks if at all possible. Skip the coffee and soda and replace it with water. Finally when you get off work and are on your way home, take Rhodiola...which you can get at health food stores or from a Nutritionist (you can really take it anytime you are really crashing). It will help balance your hormones, put you in a better mood, and give you energy.
I have 4 children, run a dance studio (which takes a lot of my time during the day) and I teach every night. I know when I keep moving, I have way more energy. I got a pedometer for Christmas, and I have so much more energy now that I have to try to get my 10,000 steps every day! I take supplements when I need to and people think I have more energy than necessary! Diet is a huge factor, so once you clean up your diet and try to avoid processed foods (incuding white flour and white sugar...also sweatners...there are plenty of unbleached unprocessed versions in most regular grocery stores) and try to eat a little more organic foods, I think you will see a huge difference!
I have always had problems with energy and I just started this nutrition program with herbalife and I love love love it! I can't believe the difference I feel in my energy level. It's amazing, it truly is. I finally have the energy to keep up with my house and my 3 year old and 9 year old. I recommend it to anyone. I love it so much I became a distributor just so I could get a 25% discount on my products.
I always just pop a top on a sugarfree Rockstar energy drink and it gives me a boost....
Hi S.,
1. Exercise, even a little walk everyday will clear your head and give you energy.
2. Eat 3-5 HEALTHY meals per day. Don't skip meals, you need the energy a great healthy meal provides.
3. Take your vitamins. I also take brewers yeast - it keeps me going.
4. Manage your time wisely and learn to say no. You're probably over-extending yourself and trying to do it all. Know when you don't have time for something and learn to say no.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

I had the same issue when my daughter was about the same age, have you had your thyroid checked? Please do. Good luck!
S.,
I know how you feel, I'm tired in the evenings frequently as well. The things I do for energy are to eat healthy and exercise. We have been following the South Beach Diet pretty well for two years and the whole grains and extra vegetables have helped. I also do aerobics three times a week and pilates on the off days.
As a SAHM I make sure to take some rest time during the day while my daughter naps-it's usually not as long as I'd like it to be. I know it's different working FT, but I know you have breaks, make sure you get some down time at work.
How are your nights? I know that some one year olds sleep through the night and others don't. If that's hard too, I would talk to your husband and make a plan to get them sleeping through the night (we had to let one cry, but two nights and it was done).
If all this is what you are already doing. Contact your doctor.
Good luck,
S.

for me i start at the gym - a good work out always gets my blood pumping! but on top of it i take some herbs - they are made by herbal life, and they rock - they are called total control - they boost my metabolism so i feel like i work out harder and they give me more energy! there is a mom listed on here that sells - ask her more about them if you are interested. oh yeah i am pretty sure they are ephedrine free too
I know exactly how you feel. I have a 5 years-old daughter and 11 months baby girl who never sleep at night. My husband work full time at night and I work full time during the day as a Teacher. I was looking for something like you for energy until I found it. I'm not sure if I can put the name of the product here or not. I can give you my email if you want contact me. Thanks!!!

I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said but thought I'd post anyway. Eat plenty of lean protein (chicken's great) and veggies and do something active every day. Sounds like a catch-22 - to get energy you have to move, to move you need energy. But you have to start somewhere.
EXERCISE!! I have a 6 year old and a 21 month old and work full time. I have a tread mill at home that I use twice per week and I go to the gym on the weekend. I have a great husband that picks the kids up from school and day care so I can get home and run on the treadmill. I am done by 6:00 p.m. My family gets home around 5:45. I take our 21 month old with me to the gym on the weekends and put him in the day care. He loves it there and often times doesn't want to leave. So my advice is exercise and eat healthy you will have lots more energy.
Recently I have put God first in my life and that gave me an abundance of energy. It was weird because I am not even one to go to church. I signed up to daily e-mails from Joyce Meyer & Joel Osteen to uplift me. I also read motivational books and I keep praying to get motivating friends in my life. Connecting with other Mom's for support might help...I just had someone recommend www.cafemoms.com for Mom's in the area. Best of Luck.
I hear you on the energy! I have a 4,3,and 1 y/o who keep me very busy and tired. What I have found to work for me is a good multi vitamin and energy drinks. I use Double X vitamin and drink XS energy drinks. The energy drinks actually taste great and have no sugar and 0-8 carbs depending on the flavor. I actually sell these so if you are intrested in trying these let me know and I will get in touch with you.

God Bless Kathy
I work full time as a stay-at-home mom with my four-year-old and 18-month-old. I was having problems with lack of energy, as well. What I started doing a month ago is waking up earlier than they do (by at least an hour) and working out. Whether I do yoga (I record the yoga show Inhale on Oxygen channel every morning ... it's awesome), run the treadmill or do one of my workout DVDs, I've noticed a HUGE increase in energy throughout the day! Drink plenty of water throughout the day, too. I do this routine every day, no matter what. I feel so much better and able to keep up with everything during the day.
Good luck!

Good morning. It's tough with having kiddos whom are young and trying to stay looking...well, alive half the time. I remember feeling like a zombie. I'll tell you what happened to me is that I tried to eat a lot of fresh veggies and then I started taking some vitamins. It did help because I know that I was eating what was ever laying around for me. I fed my kids good, but I was neglecting myself because I just didn't feel like it. But once I started drinking lots of water, taking the vitamins, staying away from the carbs and eating veggies, it did help. I hope you have a great rest of the week!!! ANd good luck! *hugz*
I'm a single mom of a 6 year old and work full time.
This is what I do.
What I eat and exercise really plays a huge role in my energy level. I can tell when I'm not eating healthy.
Also at night turn the t.v off and take some time to yourself by reading, keeping a journal or a craft.
Trying to keep to a regular sleep schedule as possible.
Wake up 15 minutes early and do some light stretching.
Most important get a sitter/grandparents to watch the kiddos and just relax.
I'm a single mother of four girls ages 20 to 10 and I raised them by myself so I know exactly how you feel. The answer for me was a liquid vitamin called body balance. Even if you eat healthy you are probably not getting the nutrition your body needs to make it through the day because the food is lacking in nutrition. If you take vitamins in a pill form you are flushing you money down the toilet literally. Your body uses energy to break down the vitamin and by the time it does you will only be getting about 10% to 20% of the vitamins. You need a liquid supplement so your body can absorb it and you want it to be all natural because synthetic is not the same. If you would like to check out the product I take and highly recommend got to www.momjuice.com and check it out. I know this works because I ran out once a couple of days before my next shippment was delivered and I could not belive how tired I felt. Body Balance is all natural made from the aloe vera plant and sea vegatables I know it sounds grose but its not and it has every thing your body needs. I take care of my granparents on top of my girls so if I'm lucky if I get to sleep from midnight to 6am everyday of the week and I have not been sick in about two years because body balance also boost your immune system and it is good for the kids too. I know I could not keep the scedule I have before I found body balance. Life Force International is the company that makes this and they also offer a free bottle to new customers go to www.lifeforcefamily.net and use 20591290 as the refferal number and you can give it a try. If you like it you can keep getting if not you can cancel. Hope this helps it did for me.
I am a 38 yo mom with a 23 month old, and I also work full time. The only reason I have any energy is because I get up and exercise in the mornings (around 5:00 a.m.). My husband and I average between 5-6 hours of sleep every night, which isn't very much, so the exercise really helps. On days that I don't exercise I am dragging all day long. Unfortunately, exercise first thing in the morning is the only thing I have found that helps.
Hi S.--All of these responses are great! I just wanted to tell you that it will get easier as the kids get older, it's awesome when they can get up in the morning on the weekends and fix their own breakfast!! I still don't get to go to the bathroom in peace though!! Just try a little bit of everything and get as much sleep as possible. My kids are 5,9,13,14(almost 15),15, and 19, now I just loose sleep wondering when my oldest is going to get home at night--lol.
Take care of yourself.

S.,
I am a changed woman by Arbonne's products. I am having an open house next week on 1/29 where I will showcase the many products that will give you a healthy boost of energy... amazing! Come by for "shots" (non-alcoholic)... HA! Call me at ###-###-#### if you would like some information. Good luck and many blessings, S.
I am from KCK... Piper. You too??
Vitamins, Girl! Super B complex and don't forget the Vitamin A to keep you healthy--It has worked for me.
I don't know yet if it's going to work, but I just ordered a product called Rice and Shine. It's a meal replacement shake that is supposed to be high in B vitamins, fiber, and many other things. If you want to try it the best price is found on Amazon. They sell it cheaper than the makers of the product do.
As a general rule I do ok. But I go through spells where I just feel blah. I believe there are so many factors. We need to get a decent nights sleep but as mothers it's not always possible. Then there are the little energy robbers in life like thinking about bills, cars that break down, etc.
I've been working more and more on managing my time and keeping myself as a priority as well as everyone else. If we don't take care of ourselves chances are no one else will.
