Hoping you mommas can help me, I have a friend who has been fostering a baby since he was a couple of months old. He is now almost one and will be going back to his birth mother in two weeks. I would like to make a card with the baby's picture and footprint with some kind of prayer or quote that would be meaningful. They have other foster children but this is the longest they have ever had a child.

What can I do next?

Sending a child back to their birth parents is always a hard thing - the goal is the best for the child & the prayer is that the birth mother is that place.

"Facing the Future
Every journey begins
With but a small step.
And every day is a chance
For a new, small step
In the right direction."

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference, living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; taking this world as it is and not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen."

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen."

I'd check on Pinterest. Put "baby quote" in the search bar. You'll get lots of options. You could also check Etsy...

And it is no small thing
When they, so fresh from God,
Love us back.
