After a romantic evening with my husband he spilt wet wax on our red micro-suade couch. I waitied until it dried and then picked off what I could and tried to wipe off the residue with a wet wash cloth. Unfortunatly there is now white waxy smear marks on the couch. Please tell me you know what I can do to clean it right up! Thank you for all your suggestions in advance.

What can I do next?

I learned with candle wax on carpet to take paper towels and lay them over the wax (3 or 4 deep) and warm an iron - not hot - then place the warm iron on the paper towels and the wax melts into the paper towels. It's visible so you will know where to move the towels and when to get new ones.
Hope this works for you.

C.,
Take a warm iron and place a brown paper bag over the spot. The iron will warm up the wax and the paper bag will soak up the wax removing it form the couch. Since your couch is micro-fiber be sure to use a warm iron not a hot one.

Wax on anything is hard to clean up but there is a remedy. Take a plain brown paper bag and cut it out to cover the wax on the couch. You will want bag to be bigger then the wax spot. Then you take a warm iron, no steam, place the warm iron over the paper bag to soak up the wax from the couch. You can also move the paper bag to a clean spot to soak up more of the wax. Make sure the iron is not too hot. I would say about medium. Move quickly with the iron and the paper bag to make sure you don't burn the suade on the couch. This is a life saver and can be also used on carpet too.

Get a couple paper towels, fold in half or however big to cover the wax..have your iron warm and put ontop of paper towel. the heat from iron will melt it up into the paper towel. i had to do it on carpet! worked well. you might still have like a grease spot... but it will get the wax up!

An iron and a thin absorbant cloth/towel: put the cloth on top of the wax and a warm iron on top of the cloth. Let it melt the wax and then the weight of the iron should help it absorb into the cloth. Viola!

Get a brown paper bag (grocery bag) and tear into smaller pieces enough to cover spot. Cover your spot with the bag and using a warm iron over the paper bag run it across moving the bag as it absurbs the wax. YOu will be able to see where the wax is coming off onto the brown bag. I am not sure if this will get it all off. But i have done this on my carpet and it all came up.

Hi, try using a hairdryer to melt the wax in the fabric, then blot it with a soft cloth. this should help get the rest of the wax out.You might have to repeat the treatment to get it all. then use an upholstery cleaner but make sure it won't hurt your fabric. Hope this helps. P.

Place a paper bag on top of the wax then run an iron over it. The wax will melt onto the paper pulling it from the fabric. Good Luck
