There is a nice rental communicty in Westmont by 355 used to be called Bristol Place. It might be worth a look. It's either at Maple or Hobson and 355---I'm drawing a blank. It's on the south east side of 355 and the cross street.
My husband and I are looking to move, we need to find a reasonable apartment close to a train station and daycare. We were looking at Westmont, but heard bad things about the apartment complex we were going to look at, and now are interested in Hinsdale. I know it seems like a lot, my husband wants to be close to I-355 and I need the train station. Any information would be helpful.?
I checked on Bristol Place, very expensive. Right now we live in Naperville, and our rent has gone up every year. We pay ALL of our utilities, including sewer and trash and now they expect us to pay $15 for our cage storage unit. It is getting crazy, we live at Country Lakes Apartments. So if anything looking for some of the utilities to be paid and rent at maybe close to what we pay now before the increase.

My husband and I live in Willow Springs which is a suburb just east of Hinsdale. I-55 and 294 are minutes away. Willow Springs is still a bit expensive but not quite as expensive as Hinsdale. There is a complex of condo's within walking distance of the metra. Some of them are available to renters. This may be a more convienant alternative that is much less expensive.
Good Luck!!!

Hinsdale is a wonderful community, but could be pricey, it's very expensive in general to live in Hinsdale. You might prefer Glen Ellyn or Wheaton, both charming communities, lots of resources for families, 3 train stations between the two towns and close to 355 and Roosevelt Rd. I'm a Realtor...can you tell? If you have more questions, feel free to contact me: ____@____.com
I heard of an apartment building in Claredon Hills right by the burlington and Claredon Hills road. It would be close to the train for you and not to terribly far from I-355. Like I said I only heard about from someone I work with so I don't have any more information other than the general location. Hope that helps a little.

I actually have a friend that used to live in Bristol Club. It is in Downers Grove, not Westmont. It couldn't be closer to 355 and it is quite close to the Belmont Staion on the Burlington Line.
The closest intersection would be 355 and Maple in Downers Grove. As far as communities go DG is great and the schools can't be beat.
Good luck on your search.

My mother lived in Hinsdale for years and I lived there very briefly with her after my divorce, it is VERY pricey, but the schools are well worth it when you are looking to buy and your kids are older.
Last year we rented in Lombard at a place called Yorktown II Apartments. They are literally in the Yorktown mall parking lot and while the outsides leave a bit to be desired, it is extremely safe and the apartments are very nice and HUGE inside. We rented a 2 bedroom and it was the largest unit (sq. footage wise) they had available at 1270 sq. feet.. We paid about $1100 which I thought was very reasonable for the size. I also loved being right in the mall area as 355 and 80 are just minutes away.
We are no longer in the area but would gladly answer any other questions you had if need be.

Our realtor told us Hinsdale is really over-priced, so I'd guess that rent on apartments may be over-priced as well.
when looking for our apartment I used apartment ratings to get an idea of a place before we went to go look at it. All you do is put in the zip code of the town and it gives you the apartments in that area and you can look at the ratings.
Good luck with your search!
