I sweep everyday and mop at least once a week. I have to with my two kids and a dog, otherwise we stick to the floor.
OK, so this is probably my least favorite task, right up there with scrubbing toilets. I mean COME ON, all we do is walk on them. And it really does seem like the minute I have them washed someone dumps a cup full of something on it all over again.
I'm working under the general principal that I spot clean enough each day that most of the floor is washed by week's end.
Am I a horrible housekeeper?
Incidentally - we do not have a cleaning service nor other outside help, so if I'm not washing them, no one else is either.
I'm with you all on the vacuuming and sweeping. I guess I should be stepping up my mopping/floor washing. Really - every other day!!!

I sweep almost daily because there is ALWAYS crumbs and yuck on my kitchen floor. I swiffer once or twice a week, usually at the point that the floor is sooo dirty I can't stand walking on it anymore. My kids are 1 and 3 so there is constantly food and drinks being spilled, and they are also always playing on the floor otherwise I probably wouldn't care as much.
Personally I hate vacuuming so my living room carpet is disgusting. It needs to be vacuumed almost daily but I certainly don't do it every day. Its also getting stained constantly, I hate trying to scrub out the stains.
I sweep about 3-4 times a day and mop almost every day. I have to though, I have a 3 year old, 10 year old, watch 4 kids and we are "The" neighborhood house for my daughter's friends AND we have white tile throughout...
When my kids were small, crawling, and when I had daycare kids, and when my grand daughter was crawling, I swept first thing every morning and mopped every day. It was first thing on my list before kids arrived. Now, I sweep every week or so, unless a box of cereal spills, or the little darling brings me a bucket of dirt. I have a gal who cleans so she mops once a month and I wipe up spots and spills. I have a fridge with ice and water in the door and it tends to get on the floor so I grab a towel and wipe it up and try to hit the spots. I will mop now and then when it just looks bad. I swept this morning and went to get the mop, but then remembered the load of laundry and then got side tracked and never did mop. maybe tomorrow. Maybe not.
Twice a week w/my 2 in 1 Shark steam mop, and as needed for big sticky spills.
once a week or more if something sticky gets spilled.
I sweep every other day and I mop 1x to 2x a week. My boys are messy so it seems like I always have something to clean up. There are alot of spot cleans in between.

Every other week... spot clean otherwise and I even have a spray bottle made up with the floor cleaner I like so I can spot clean easier.
Honestly, it depends on the week...
Sometimes I get to them once a week. Sometimes once every two. If we aren't home enough to make them dirty, then I don't wash them.
The fall is a very busy time around here - it's Marching Band Season -- we are out more than we are in... Sometimes it's a month before the floor gets a good washing.
I wipe up spills immediately. I don't sweat the small stuff. I also don't have little kids or toddlers. When my kids were little, I'd wash the floor every other day...

I vaccuum once a week or two, use the dustbuster to pick up food and cat hair in between. I wipe down the tiles and wood floor infrequently, maybe once a year. We don't wear shoes in the house.
I don't wash them ever, but my cleaning ladies scrub everything down once a week with Pine Sol and Bleach. I spot clean in between if anything is spilled. Before the cleaning ladies, it was every other week. I agree, it's such a chore. Not enjoyable at all! Blech.
I try to sweep after the meals to contain the problem, and spot-mop with the swiffer-type mop when something really sticky has hit the floor. I mop the floor once a week or once every other week (or when I really can't stand it anymore, or if we are having company).
when the kids were crawlers/toddlers I MOPPED every day. I cant stand to see dirty knees or dirty bottoms of feet. After they were older I mopped once a week most of the time, usually on Fridays so the place would look good for wknd visitors.
I sweep daily and steam mop 2 times a week
I hear you on that! But, I must say, I literally clean EVERYDAY! I don't hate it but the way I look at it especially since it's summer is would you want to deal with ant's or would you rather clean the house and mop the floor's? I also look at house chore's as a "work-out"... plus I enjoy the feeling of finally being able to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee with a clean house...Also, if you have children then get them involved! I have 3 and they are always helping me out with chore's, Don't ever look at it as being a horrible "houskeeper" just think more positive and you'll get it done quicker! Good Luck!
once a week, but I sweep most days - toddlers are hard on floors
I sweep (swiffer) a few days a week. I mop with vinegar and water once a week.
