Hair spray works on regular fabrics it may work, you are supoost to treat it before the ink dries. J.
Hi girls,
So, my 2 year old drew a beautiful picture.....ALL OVER THE LEATHER OTTOMAN, ugh. I tried a few things but am scared to try too much since I don't know what I am doing. It is a chocolate colored ottoman from Pottery Barn and is a real soft and supple leather.
I tried a bit of hairspray...no luck. Rubbing alcohol....faded the ink a teeny bit but didn't remove it. I also tried a leather cleaner.....it just cleaned the leather, it didn't do a thing to the ink.
I am hoping someone out there knows what to do. Thanks in advance!
:) S.

Try Greased Lighting. I get it at Wal-mart or the Dollar store. I have used it many times to get ink out of clothes and also used it to clean ink off a purse.
Or, specialty pen shops, will have specialty pen ink removers.
Call your local high-quality dry cleaner. Ask if they treat leather & explain the situation. At least an ottoman is a small enough piece that maybe they can help (guess it's time to be thankful it wasn't the chair!).
Good luck with your budding Picasso!
Goof off might work, I think you can only find it at hardware stores.
Call Pottery Barn and ask if they have something or the manufacturer does.
Try woolite.. it was recommended to me by a leather cleaner years ago.
Have you tried a magic eraser? I use those for everything. It work great for pen on other smooth surfaces. I have never tried it on leather so I would test it in a spot that you can see. Good Luck
try toothpaste but try it on a hidden part first to make sure it does not take off the dye.
Try hand sanitizer, it's gelled rubbing alcohol. I would test it on a spot that won't show if the dye comes out but if it does you may be able to cover that with paste shoe polish.
I would call Pottery Barn and ask what to do.
