Music... haha (don't know how many moms agree...) I'm glancing at my playlist while I type this...

Right Now I love T Rex, Buzzcocks, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, my husband's band, Queen, The Police, Beatles, Beck, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Stevie Wonder, Brad Paisley, The Isley Brothers, Brothers Johnson, Frank Zappa and more. I like a mix.

Also, who says that the bon bons and trashy tv watching CAN'T be motivation... just do them all at the same time:)

Another motivation can be simply just STARTING a project. That is what has gotten me in the mood for things before...

I'd play Beethoven's the Emperor Symphony, Dvorak's New World Symphony, Klezmer music. All of these keep my energy up.

I would pop in some T.I. or some upbeat rap club type music. But you mentioned paint so I may need a blue full throttle too, I don't like to paint at all.

Depending on my mood, I may go a totally different direction with the music and play Hawthorne Heights or Chiodos.

I would pop in some Motown from the '60's & '70's & get to it!

ABBA. LOUD! Okay, I'm showing my age. It's just the beats are perfect for getting to work.

they are going to be coming home at some point! easier to do when they are away, pure motivation! ;) have fun with it!!

I like a lot of music that isn't going to inspire anyone else...but if I really want to get moving, I have to play the FEW (and there are only a few) rap and techno songs I like. I pretty much like them for this reason. They are "Hey-Ya" by OutKast, "Pop the Top" by Nappy Roots (??), "Drop the Pressure" by Mylo, and "The Fruit" by Sander Kleinbender or something like that, I'm sure I got his name wrong. OH, and "Good Vibrations"...the arky Mark and the Funky Bunch version, not the Beach Boys. Also, something heavy like Rage Against the Machine or System of a Down.

But different music for different tasks...to wash dishes, I like to listen to the soundtrack for Hair.

To cook, clean, etc, I like They Might Be Giants, Led Zeppelin, TONS of oldies (50s, 60s, some 70s), Soul Coughing, ska, and other random stuff...

Work hard and fast and then get out the bon bons. If you sit now, you know
what will happen. I love when I am alone with music, do what I need to do
as quickly as possible and the reward is whatever I want plus peace and
quiet and organization.

If I put music on, it would be all over. I wouldn't get a thing done, lol! When I'm not feeling motivated about a project like that, I sit down and look at it for a while. Then, I write a list of each little task I'll need to do. Then, I tell myself to just do the first job on the list. By the time I've done that, I'm in full swing. At that point, I could put on whatever music I felt like! : )

Go look at the rooms. That will motivate you!

The Despicable Me soundtrack and/or some old Janet Jackson hits

I would listen to country music and I would listen to it REAL LOUD.

I have a Pandora station that started with Hank Williams, Jr and AC/DC that can usually get me moving....

I know I'm late, but there's nothing like some good old fashioned disco, r&b/disco fusion (think Earth, Wind and Fire, Commodores, etc.), or Prince to get me moving. I used to listen to Prince's Greatest Hits every time I had to paint a room.
