K.,
English muffins work really well for mini pizzas. Or bagels - Thomas brand even has square ones now.
Good luck!

my son is having over a few friends and i thought it would be fun for the kids to make their own pizzas. but i don't want to use anything with yeast and want to keep the crusts as simple as possible. i need some ideas of what i can use for the crusts!!!!!
we just got done eating and i went with the grand biscuits. and i must say wow!!! they were so good. i fed two five year old boys and two 6 year old girls and they all voted that these were the best home made pizzas and can't wait to stay over again to have them again!!!! thank-you for all the ideas!!!!!

I have done pizza before as well. I found using bagels to work well. Take bagels and open them into halves. The kids can then add all their toppings. Put in oven at 350 until cheese is melted. Very easy and not much clean up. Good Luck.
Hi K.!
We use the Grands biscuits in a can...just press them down and squash them a little to flatten them out...they can increase in size by quite a bit and would be bigger than an english muffin. Then put on your toppings and bake them for approximately the time shown on the tube....you'll be able to guage when they're done :) We have these about once a week at our house and they're delicious. Have fun at the party!
Hi K.,
I have used english muffins and the kids love them, also flour tortilla shells work great as well.
My mom always made tiny individual pizzas on English muffin halves. They were a big hit when I had friends over and I still make them sometimes.
I use the packaged whole pita pockets found usually near the deli in the supermarket. I buy the squeeze pizza sauce and chop the veggies before hand and let my daughter decorate her own pizza. They cook at 350 for about 5 min or until the cheese is melted.
Hi K.
When I make my individual pizzas I use english muffins.
I breifly toast them put sauce on them with the toppings and cheese. Then bake them in the oven or sometimes I use the microwave. Hope everythng turns out!

I did this for my son's birthday party before. We bought the Boboli (sp?)already made personal size pizza crusts from the grocery store. Not sure if yeast is in them but they worked out perfect, and the kids loved making thier own pizza. Good Luck!
I dont know if this would be in your price range, but Boboli makes small premade crusts that the kids can just put the stuff on and bake......otherwise you can get the premade bread dough from the freezer section......when all else fails there is always the french bread idea
I can't believe it hasn't been said but I use hamburger buns! They are a nice big size and they don't get too crisp. You can make 16 pizzas with one pack of buns! Pretty cheap!
My advice would be to go with small soft tortilla's or use matzos. Most grocery stores carry the Manischewitz brand in a few varieties, and since matzo is unleavened bread, it should be yeast free unlike english muffins.
If you're looking for something a little larger than an English muffin half, I would recommend pita bread. It comes prepackaged at the store. Plus, it's already been baked so that can cut down on prep time.
They have already made pizza crusts at most stores. One is Boboli and another is by Pilsbury. Look in the refridgerated section for the Pilsbury ones. It comes in a tube like the cinnamon rolls. Good luck and have fun.
When I was younger, we didn't have a ton of money, so my mom had to be creative with our birthday parties. We had a make-your-own party! It was so much fun because she had a white t-shirt and hat and some puffy paints. All my friends decorated it and then I got a keepsake. Then we made our own pizzas! (there was a point here:)) One year we used english muffins which were nice but kind of small. The next year we used flour tortillas! It worked so nice. However, make sure they are on a pizza pan first because they are hard to transfer. We then ended the night with make your own sundaes. Such a fun birthday party! Have fun!
My daughter used english muffins during one of her class projects and she said they were good. The only thing is they are kind of small. You can also try bagels, I've never tried it but I've ate the frozen bagel bites and they were good. We have used large hamburger buns after a party and I got carried away and bought way to many and they turned out pretty good as little pizzas. Good luck!
I have a daughter whose favorite food is pizza. We've tried everything form home made crust to english muffins. The one that works the best for us is greek style pita (it is pocketless). I also use the squeeze sauce and let my children make their own pizzas. I've also purchased a ball of pizza dough from Nick n' Willy's for $3, I think you can do the same from Pappa Murphy's but have not tried it. Hope this helps.
what about english muffins? we use them frommtime to time to make a different meal.
English muffins should work well or tortilla soft shells. I come across a lot of recipes that use english muffin 1/2s for pizzas so that would be your best bet probably. That way they are small and if they want a couple different kinds they can.
We make individual pizzas a lot and use English muffins for the "crust". We also use just simple tomato sauce for the base, cheese and whatever else you like. They work best in a toaster oven too. Taste great and cannot get much easier!
English muffins! They make great crusts and are just the right size for kids to make their own. Just split the muffins and your all set.
