K.K.
It was too expensive for me when I looked at rentals. I was going to teach and live on one income. It is BEAUTIFUL. And the snow, ice, and traffic was bad to commute in.
Is Colorado Springs a good place to make friends and raise a family?
What are the people like?
Do they take care of themselves?

Just wishing you good luck wherever you go...
The area will have lots of military there - you have Fort Carson and the Air Force Academy right there! It has grown greatly since we were there almost 30 years ago - so can't tell you much on current stats! Have you looked up their paper online and read thru it to get a feel on things? (think it's the Gazette)
You want to leave Arvada? Really? :(
I'd pick Arvada over the Springs every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The Springs has had several budget cuts forcing them to forgo parks maintenance, turn off street lights, etc. There is a single dominant industry: the military. If anything happens to the employer, it's devastating for the town.
Arvada has a real home town feeling to me.
Pikes Peak is pretty though, and if you can get a house with a view of the peak, at least you have something nice to look at!
