I'd confirm with your plan but it should be. The cost will go against your deductible so plan on it costing about that much.
I've been meaning to call BCBS to find out and it just keeps slipping my mind. I go for my 6 week checkup soon and was thinking about getting Mirena, but only if it's covered.
Thanks for your help!
Well, I just called BCBS to check, and as long as it's done at an in network provider, it is covered at 100%, I just have to pay my copay.
Thanks everyone!

I had one put in 4 years ago and it was not covered. My doctor submitted it and it was denied. I ended up paying a little every month.
I absolutely love the Mirena and I am going to consider getting it again in December.
I have the same coverage as you. Mikrena is supposed to be covered 100%. However if your Dr.'s office makes you order and pay for the device in advanced (instead of ordering it on your behalf) then you may end up paying the co-pay. This is what happened to me as it ended up getting coded incorrectly and thus fell under some different category aside from birth control. Good luck.
BTW, after the initial 4-5 months of spotting that occurred with the Mirena, I have loved the ease and consequent "light" periods I now have.
I had one put in September 2008 and BCBS covered 100%. All I paid was the deductible. But I would call to make sure, since you never know with these insurance companies. From what I remember it was around $800-$900 for the procedure.
