Is Mosquito Spray Safe for Toddler's Face

We live in TX and the mosquitos are TERRIBLE almost year round. I use an organic mosquito repellant but I have not wanted to put it on his face. It is VERY hot here and I'm afraid when he sweats it will drip in his eyes; or get in his nose or mouth. Does anyone know if it's safe to use on the face?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I don't know about the stuff on a child's face, but please don't spray it, at least. He could breathe it in, or it could get in his eyes.

There is probably an 800 number on the bottle, or you can look it up online. Ask them about the face. Or look for FAQ's on the product's website.

I usually sprayed the kids hats really well, and that repelled the mosquitos from the general area.

I wouldn't think so, but just ask the doc. Even sun screen in the face can be very painful.

maybe rub some in his hair?
I, too, would be afraid it would sweat into his eyes.

No. The chemicals that is in those items are not for their lungs. They don't even allow baby powder in child care anymore because they were finding it in babies lungs. They breathe in minute particles each time they breathe in. She does not need this in her lungs. The best I could suggest is for her to have one of those hanging repellent somewhere on her stroller, something that is close to where she is, and let it do the fighting off the insects. I would not even put any on her.

It will drip in his eye. It is a problem with applying sun screen to the faces here in LV.

I wouldn't put it there.
Shaklee makes a product called Basic H. I bathed my children and myself in. I also live in TX and have not had a mosquito bite since I have been doing that--almost 20 years. They will light on me but don't bite.
One summer night when we left the kids with a baby sitter, she played with them outside. When we got home, she was literally covered in bites and the boys did not have a single one.

Burt's Bees has a repellant that we swear by. They even encourage consumers not to forget the face. Just don't spray it in the face.

i wouldn't. i've been in some pretty darn infested areas, and i have never been bitten on the face when i had repellant on my clothes. is it a problem? if you're really concerned i would maybe spray it in my hands and then run it through his hair...but that's all i'd do.

Just to be safe, don't do it to his face.
