yes maria this is normal. i too didn't breastfeed for more than a few weeks and i have a daughter who is two and if there is pressure i will leak a very small amout too. strange.

I don't have an answer for you but I just wanted to tell you that I had a baby 10 months ago and I am still leaking. I'm not sure when it will stop but I know it is pretty normal. I think its all the hormones in your body still. I will be glad when it stops too!

This happened to me too. I bf for 1 month and had to quit due to medical reasons. Around 8-9 months later, I had some leakage from one breast. It can be a sign of a brain tumor, but that is easily tested from a blood test that I received back in 1 day. I also did have to get a mammogram and ultrasound done, because nipple discharge can also be a sign of breast cancer. Everything was fine for me and I am sure everything will be fine for you. But it is always better to be safe and err on the side of caution. Just get everything checked out, but I am sure it is just your body getting back to normal as it was for me. Good luck. If it is due to milk production, the OB can give you pills to dry you up. However, check with your OB to make sure this is the reason you are leaking. It happened to me once a long time ago and the OB sent me for some tests (blood work I believe). Not to scare you either, but leaking from the breasts can also be a sign of a brain tumor.

I think it would be a good idea for you to schedule a mammogram. You are always better off to err on the side of caucion. I breast fed my son for a year and a half. About 8 months after I weened him I still had a milky discharge from one of my breasts. I went for a baseline mammogram and learned that I had stage 2 breast cancer. I am not trying to scare you or even imply that this could be the case with you. But I think women today need to be so careful... According to current statistics 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her life time. I was diagnosed at 36. Cancer if very curable when detected early. If I had waited to get a mammorgram at the recommended starting age of 40 it would have been too late for me. I am so blessed to be here and be able to say that today I am cancer free.

I had something similar happen to me. Though I will say, I did nurse, but it was several months after I had stopped. I called my OB/GYN and told them. The nurse told me that it should not be happening? It did eventually stop. Check with your OB, especially if it is not clear.

This is totally normal. It varies with each woman but I had my third child almost 2 years ago and I'm still getting a teeny tiny bit of milk. I did breastfeed but I don't think it matters. Your body just takes a (sometimes long) while to get out of wanting to nourish baby mode. Just give your body some time and it will stop. Seven months isn't that long. I don't remember how long it took with my 1st two kids but I know it didn't take as long as it has with my third! Hope this helps! Good luck!

I don't think it matters if you've breastfed or not. Milk still produces and goes through the same process to dry up.

With my 2nd pregnancy I breastfed for only 3 months and I leaked every now and then for about 1 1/2 years. Stimulation can trigger it. I usually noticed it after my monthly self breast exam or after sex with hubby.

I did mention it to my OB/GYN at my annual visit. He also said it was normal too. I would mention it at your next check-up.

I did breast feed my daughter for a year and had a mammagram a year or so after I stopped nursing her and when they did the test lets just say the machine got wet. I was completely surprised but the woman doing the test said it is normal. I have another mammogram scheduled on Monday and am execting milk to stream out this time around since it has only been since last november since I started nursing my son.
