yes you can. Men's plumbing is just less complex, so it's rarer that we get them.
Next time get two doses - one for each of you.
(btw, small white bumps isn't a male yeast infection. Our yeast infections are normally inside the urethra)
Okay moms, I know there has to be someone out there that can help...close to a month ago I had what I thought was a yeast infection...treated it with diflucan...went away. Came back about a week or so later...treated it again with diflucan. Went to the OB/GYN on Wed with a clean bill of health (PAP smear not back yet). Went home and later had relations with the hubby and almost immediately afterwards started itching again.
Looking back...the first infection was after sweating all day in a very warm room and going home in the evening with very wet undies. That was a Friday...called doctor on Monday when couldn't stand it anymore. After a week or so whenI I felt better I had relations with my hubby. Started itching again shortly afterwards. Treated it as a yeast infection. We went on vacation with the family so no relations. Got back and life was busy. Then after having relations I am itching again. I decided to wait to see if it will go away, but now I'm curious...can you get a yeast infection from your husband? (And no, we don't have relations that often since we don't see each other as often until he quits his PT job soon, which isn't soon enough)
My hubby is obese and sweats a lot. He has two jobs and one is very physical causing him to sweat a lot, especially after working. His other job is a home based job that he sits at the computer all day for. He also keeps the house super warm to save money on the electric bill, so he is not always a cool cucumber. I did ask to "check" him out the other day to see if there was anything odd on his genitals and aside from some white small hard bumps, he looked normal....maybe TMI, but I am really curious. Don't remember seeing the bumps before...
So, anything you can suggest or help with. If the itching doesn't go away I'm calling the doctor on Monday especially since I got a clean bill of health from her the same day it started again. Boo!! :(
Wow, some info I had not thought of. Thank you ladies. Anymore info would help too. Unfortunately the DH won't go see a doctor, especially not about that area...and he hates taking pills. Rare for him to even take a Tylonal for a headache. He is a pain in my rear about this. Won't go to a doctor for ANYTHING!

Just a question: are you using any spermicide contraception or latex condoms? Just wondering, as some of us have horrible allergies to these two things.
If you are using latex condoms, consider using a lambskin condom instead without spermicide.
I work for a national testing laboratory as a women's health specialist. Yes, couples can pass infections back and forth....it drives my clients crazy.
You have a persistent issue and need to be tested for those organisms that case persistent BVV (I can think of a ton or organisms possibly responsible). It sure is a lot easier for your physician to call in a prescription for Diflucan but now she needs to figure out what is causing you discomfort.
Your hubby should see his physician as well.
Good luck!!
I hate that! Okay, besides all the other wonderful information you are hearing and maybe this is TMI start not wearing your undies to bed. Then you give that area a chance to air out.Good luck!
Yes, I hear that both can have a yeast infection and since usually it doesn't really bother the men, they never seem to get treated. A friend of mine told me that whenever she gets it, her hubby has to take the meds too so they can both get rid of it. Otherwise, you will continue to get it once you have sex.
Sounds like he has jock itch. I would have him use a anti-fungal cream for a while and baby powder to keep the air flow going. My mom always advised me to have a hot as you can stand bath. Also, there are foods that you can eat to help with bacterial problems. I would eat some yogurt with probiotics at least twice a day for a while (like month or two). You can make your own yogurt if you want to keep it cheap. There are recipes online to do it in a crockpot. The bumps are probably also a heat rash.
Girl Ive been having the same problem. I'm going to see my OB tomorrow. I just itch down the and my skin is kinda raw. Do you drink a lot of water? I don't and I think that's a cause. Do you wear tight clothing? I do and its hot here so I'm thinking we're not letting down there breath good and were sweating. Hope nothing but just an itch. I'll fill you in tomorrow for the rest. Hope you feel better soon.
