Could any recommend a place of IVF? We are considering this option and currently go to the Midwest Fertility Center. We live in Chicago. Is there a place that is better? It's such an expensive procedure that I want to do my homework first.

Thanks,

Mellie

Hi M.,

We went through Fertility Center of Illinois (FCI) in Glenview, Dr. Rapisarda, twice! He was amazing!!! We were never just a number to him (or his staff). In fact, I was actually sad to say good bye to everyone there when we were moved to my OB after getting pregnant both times. I highly recommend FCI.

Good luck!

I highly recommend Dr. Brian Kaplan. He is at Diversey and Halsted. Sorry I can't remember the name of the clinic. He is wonderful and I was told one of the very best in the Chicago area. Good luck to you!

Hi M.,

We went to see Dr. Wood-Molo at Rush. She made sure that all the tests and a "plan of action" was done within one cycle, and then I had surgery plus two rounds of IUI and now have a 3-month old little guy to complete our baby adventure :)
She is very experienced and very down to earth in her approach. I have several friends that went to her, with great results and they referred me to her. We felt as though we were in very good hands and that there was a light at the end of the tunnel post-Clomid!!

Good luck!

Hi,

My husband and I underwent fertility treatments, and now have a beautiful 9 year old daughter and 7 1/2 year old twins. We did not have to do IVF, we did artificial insemination. Anyway, we were treated at the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction which is affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital. We LOVED our doctor (Michael Hickey). I have several friends and acquaintances who had IVF through the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction, all with successful results. I realize that Hinsdale may be inconvenient since you live in Chicago, but I believe it is worth checking out.

Dr. Kaplan is excellent. I believe he can be found out at Highland Park Hospital along with Dr. Edward Marut. The staff at Highland Park (which is part of FCI - Fertility Centers of Illinois) is wonderful. I know a lot of people who have gone there and have had great success along with really liking the doctors, nurses and staff. It is a great group of people with a great success rate. Good luck! Here is the info:

I too am a patient at Midwest Fertility Center(although I am doing IUI). I love them(they helped me conceive my son). But I was having insurance issues this time and almost had to switch and the place that was recomended to me was Fertility Centers of Illinois. http://www.fcionline.com/index.htm

Good Luck!!!

I've been to both Kaplan and Midwest Fertility Centers. We were successful (1st attempt) with IUI with Kaplan, then unsuccessful with both centers. Kaplan is highly regarded but I felt really abandoned by him when I needed a D&C and he couldn't fit me in for 2 weeks. I don't feel that the treatment is particularly specific but his numbers are good. Midwest experience was wierd and I submitted to some very expensive surgery that my OB advised against (in that he didn't think it would help). All's well but I didn't get pregnant.

I know someone who goes to Jan Friberg (male) at Watertower ###-###-#### and can't recommend him highly enough though she has not yet been successful.

Best of luck,

J.
