So What Happened?

Wow so many ideas, I never thought of the concierge one but that is tempting! I think I'm in the minority since I love to cook! i don't love cleaning but i don't mind it so much as long as the junk is picked up. Picking up junk around the house and purging the old clothes and toys are what I hate the most! Decluttering! Then taking it all to charity or something. I'd love to have someone come every day to pick things up in the evening after kids go to bed and then once a month to declutter!

I am NOT a good housekeeper and I would LOVE to have one come like every Friday, so the house was clean in time for people coming to visit on the weekend. I would want them to clean the entire house from top to bottom AND do all the laundry and put it away AND change all the bedding in all the bedrooms (we have 6).

Now THAT would be awesome!

I'd love to have someone come in and organize all of the stuff I hide because I don't know what to do with it when I'm doing my "5 minutes until guest arrive" house cleaning.

I want a personal chef. I hate cooking and I get sick of going out. I just want someone who prepares my meals and cleans up the mess. I can deal with all the rest but I am so sick of cooking but we have to eat so you're stuck.

At first I though a chef to cook all the meals. But then I am thinking maybe a driver because driving around all day is exhausting to me and I like to cook. So if someone else did all the driving I might have more energy for cooking.

OR a personal assistant who ran errands and kept up with my crazy schedule....leaving me open for cooking...

Oh, but there is house cleaning maybe just a butler that cooks/cleans/and does my scheduling...

Are you sure I can have only one?????

Bathrooms. Because no one cares about them except me. It's not something most guests see, it's no fun, you have to lean over the tub, you have to clean the yuck off the shower curtain. And as soon as you clean, it starts all over.

That's it. Everything else I can manage.

A good housekeeping team to come in and clean and maintain. I love to do crafts and the time it takes to clean takes away from my crafts. Also a lawn crew now that hubby is not so well.

It would be nice to come home to a shiny spotless house and just enjoy like a hotel room.

I'd hire a housekeeper and a gardener so I could do more of what I want to do. Sit in a chair, read, watch movies, visit with relatives, travel and whatever "tickled my fancy."

Wow, so many things! Definitely picking my child up after school, so she would not have to be in aftercare until 6 p.m., and having the assistant sit down to tutor her and help her with homework (and my kid would actually GET IT because the kind assistant made it understandable!). It'd be even better if the person could have a fresh, homemade meal waiting for us. I cannot imagine how good it would feel to come home after work to my child having no homework, a tasty dinner being ready, and having time to actually spend with my child, playing games, taking a walk on the beach, swimming in the pool, or whatever. Maybe then, I could actually manage to put my child in piano or other extracurricular activities she'd like to do, but cannot, due to time constraints during the week. I'd be happy to keep the laundry and housecleaning for myself like I do now, if I could just have those other things taken care of by someone! How about you?

Deep housecleaning. I don't hire because I'm picky and I hate heating them wiping the blinds and the blinds sound like they'll fall down. I clean the blinds with baby wipes wiping each slat separately.

I do actually hire for deep clean about twice a year. It's a pain in the a$$ because my dogs go nuts.

This weekend I hired my lawn service to finish putting protective "poodle" fence on my iron fence. My hubby had done part of the job. Basically they had to be outside the fence, bury a concrete stone and then put iron lattice at lower level. Point is.., keep the dillos out and my poodle in.

Beyond basic house chores I would hire for..., I'd hire a driver to take me to all my errands and things to do so I don't fight traffic. I hate the traffic around here!

We have someone come clean the house every two weeks and I always say it's the best money I spend every month. Worth every penny!

Now, if I could have help with a daily chore, it would be cooking. Planning and cooking meals just isn't my thing. I do it, but I hate it.

good question.

I like the chef who cleans up the dishes. I would like healthy organic meals that the chef would get from the garden he handles/maintains in the back yard.

Now if only I can figure out how I can get this chef to fold the laundry...

A chef. I've said that when talking about what I'd do if we won the lottery. I passionately hate cooking. I have a son with SED/ARFID who has to have custom meals (look up this condition before judging) and it's exhausting making two meals all the time.

Cooking.
I am not home very often at night anymore (I work a swing shift) and my husband is not a huge cook. My two eldest boys practice 3 nights a weeks, so we are often eating on the fly. It would be lovely if someone would come in and cook dinner.

I would hire a driver. Wouldn't care if the car was older, less fancy, no bells and whistles. But it would have to start, run, and stop well. And I would never drive. I'd gladly do someone's personal cooking, clean their bathrooms, clean their houses, if I could only say "please bring the car around, I need to go to the grocery store/doctor's office/pharmacy...

A "concierge": We live in a big city, which we love, but there are so many moving parts here: Typically, kids don't go to the neighborhood schools, so at every transition point there is a massive amount of research to find the right preschool, right elementary, right high school. There are always timelines, forms and deadlines...so there is always a sense that you're missing something even if you've done massive amounts of research. Similarly, finding OTs, speech therapists, tutors, if you have a child who needs additional supports. Then, school break coverage..be it a camp or childcare for school breaks and summer vacation. Then, each weekend, finding activities since kids tend to go to school everywhere and you don't have just a gang of kids from your hood with whom your child can interact. Someone whose job it would be to do all the research would be awesome!
