JFF - Was Your Child Right About Unborn Siblings Gender?

I am 29 weeks pregnant - due in March.
Since the time we told our son (will be 4 in June) that he was going to be a big brother, he has INSISTED that baby is a girl/sister. We do NOT know the gender, we were surprised with #1 and enjoyed that route so are repeating again for #2. But DS is ADAMANT that it is a girl!

Anytime he is asked, he says matter-of-factly that baby is a girl/sister. It is not asked or replied in such way like "I WANT a sister" it is "It's a girl". Whenever I say "brother or sister" or ask what he will do if he gets a baby brother, he looks at me like I am crazy, looks me straight in the eye and says so calmly and seriously, "Momma, it's a GIRL".

So - I am just curious - was anyone else's child(ren) so insistent on baby's gender? Did they end up being right or not?? :-)

What can I do next?

Yes. My son who was two at the time even regaled me with tales of him and a girl playing in heaven, and he asked her to be his sister. I had a girl. Then later when we were discussing names of number three, both my older two 4, 2, said we didn't need girl names, it was a boy. They were right both times. Congrats! It's probably a girl :)

My son, almost three, was also certain it would be a girl. He was right.

When I was expecting #3, my son who was 3 yrs old at the time, insisted that it was a girl. He wouldn't hear anything else. I'm not sure if it's because he had an older sister and he was used to sisters, or if he wanted it to be a girl because he viewed a boy as potential competition for my affections or what...but he was wrong. It was a boy. It couldn't have worked out better. He and his little brother (now 4 yrs old) get along and play so well together. Now when I tell him he really wanted a baby sister, he gets a horrified look on his face!

My daughter was the same way with our second and she was correct! She even accurately guessed the gender of two friends' pregnancies as well. Her best friend's mom was pregnant at the same time as me and she was very matter of fact that I was having a girl and her friend's mom was having a boy. I was so nervous that she was going to be wrong and not accept her new sibling, but she was correct with her guess. :)

My kids are too close in age for the older to have had an opinion about the younger. But I knew, both times, I absolutely knew the gender before we found out and was right both times. Can't tell you why, but I knew.
