i know you should take birthcontrol after yor tubes get tide for one month longer, because you still can get pregnant in this month.

I think if u was pregnant then they would have known before u got your tubes tied. And they should have told you how long it would be before u could have sex. But maybe you should wait just a couple more days or a week and see if anything happens. And if u don't get it then u should call your doctor and see whats going on.

No, there is no certain time. When it's comfortable for you, it's ok to have sex. Once the tubes are tied, you're protected. Sometimes following a tubal, your normal cycle is disrupted so you can't always expect your cycle to follow the same time frame as before the tubal.

I can totally understand all those worry thoughts going through your head when you are relying on a surgery for birth control. I had my tubes tied when I had my last baby and up until then I could almost tell you the hour in which my period would begin because I was so regular. So the first time I was a few days late I was freaked out. I went and bought a pregnancy test just to get it off my mind. Gladly it came back negative, and I started a couple days later. With you having surgery right after your period, and this would be your first one after, it may have just thrown your body off. Your not really too late right now, but to ease your stress if you could afford it get an EPT and then you will know for sure without waiting and worrying another week.

When I had my tubes tied my doctor said that it was immediate and that there was no need to worry. that was Feb. 1, 2005. Since then my periods have been irregular and sometimes 21 days apart. I would go back to the doctor and have them check and make sure you are not. It could very easily be your nerves. I would not get to worked up about it.Just try to relax and maybe you will start soon.

I had my tubes tied 6 weeks after having my son. I had a few pregnancy scares afterwards because my periods were so irregular. I don't know about other women, but since having mine tied I've had very irregular periods. I went from a 35 day cycle to almost 50. I would go get checked out just for your own sanity.

You could be a little late for any number of reasons. Being pregnant is only one and it isn't one of the most likely either. If it is possible, you ought to try to relax about it. You just might get your period any day now.
I had my tubes carterized ( tied off, and burned with a lazer ) over 18 yrs ago, and I have to admit my periods have rarely been exactly 28 days apart since. We had intercourse as soon as I felt like it.
If you still haven't had your period by next Thursday, you probably need to look into why. But, with three young children and a recent surgery, you probably can't expect your first period to be on time. I wish you the best.

The best way to be sure is to take a pregnancy test. Our body puts off a hormone that only is there when you are pregnant. If it says you aren't pregnant then the chances ae you aren't I think your body is just getting used to the adjustments.

My period hasn't been the same since I got my tubes tied. It has been much heavier and not predictable at all. It comes when it wants, stays for any number of days and drives me nuts!
Could be the same thing has happened with yours.

I haven't had my tubes tied but I did watch my sister go through pregnancy scare after pregnancy scare after hers. No one told her that her periods would be messed up after because surgery is such a trauma to the body. She would skip a few months at a time and swear she was having a miscarriage. Finally she seems to have accepted that her body is different and is getting on with her life

I can tell you that after having many surgeries that my cycle was the last thing my body could handle afterward.

ok i just talked to my sis about this. she had her tubes tied when she had her c-section. she says a)there is not much of a chance that you would hae already been pregnant when you got them tied the docs would have said womething or if you were the strees to your uterus during the surgery would have killed the fetus. b) irregular periods are pretty common after having your tubes tied. c) it could poosibly be a blood clot. one of friends had this happen after her tubes were tied and the blood lot basically gt in the way of the period flow. if that is te case you could try taking soome asprin once or twice a day to thin the blood and make it pass easier. warning however, if the blood clot bursts instead of thinning it wont do much damage but it will likely be painful.

I got my tubes tied 5 weeks after i had my daughter. i had her in august 2006. i didnt have a period until dec, and it lasted over 2 months, everyday, not just spotting but like a full fledge period.. i was worried that by some chance the tubal may not have worked. but i didnt end up pregnant and finally i am back to normal.. if you breast fed at all this may mess your period up.. if your too worried about it, go to the doctor. just to be on the safe side..

No worries darlin. I don't know one person that has had their tubes tied that hasnt had problems with their periods afterwards. And actually, several of them, including me got to where we were never regular at all and so it caused what periods we did have to be a lot more painful than normal. My doctor put me on birth control pills to regulate my period. It worked and since they were regulated I no longer was in so much pain each month. If you keep having a problem with it then go to your doctor and ask him about putting you on birth control. It's been a life saver for everyone I know that has had a tubal.
