My husband and I were thinking about taking a day trip to Rochester, MN later this month. Are there any fun things to do with a 2 year old? What about House of Bounce? I've heard of it, but don't really know what it is. Are there any museums?

What can I do next?

I would say that Silver Lake is the place to be. There are lots of play areas, swimming pool, skate park, and feeding the geese is a lot of fun. There is also a place called Silver Lake Boat and Bike Rentals that has paddleboats, bikes, kayaks, canoes and mini golf. Lots of fun!

I highly recommend House of Bounce, Oxbow Park, and the soldier's field park. There is also a nice park and playground at Silver Lake. Walking around silver lake is also fun - bring bread to feed the geese! (I hate the geese. they are messy and gross...but tourists love them). the House of Bounce has recently expanded and relocated - my kids LOVE it. (4 yrs and 20 months) There is a toddler section and a bigger section...a two year old would be able to use both but you may want to go at a time devoted to toddlers, just so the bigger kids don't bounce on him/her.

Thursdays on first and third is a lot of fun too...there is usually entertainment at night. Someone mentinoed Quarry Hill Nature Center - a great place to visit! There is also a park/campground called Chesterwoods with nice hiking trails, fishing piers, and a nice beach. I think it is about $5 a car to get in there.

Quarry Hill Nature Center is awesome. Lots of stuff for a 2-year old to touch and play with.

Oxbow Park and zoo is fun, too.

We took our daughter to House of Bounce when she was just 2. She didn't really care for it. They have a few little bouncers but most of them were too big for her. Just outside of Rochester (near Byron) is Oxbow Park. They have a small free zoo that our kids love. Our daughter loves the park at Soldiers Field. There is also a nice zero entry pool there. If you come to town on a Thursday this summer we have Thursdays on First and Third downtown. There is live music and lots to see. On Saturday mornings we have a nice farmers market. Look at the website RochesterFamilies.com
There is a lot of information about fun things to do and special events that are happening.
