We like to go to Valley Green in Chestnut Hill, which has a great bike/jog trail, picnic facilities, bathrooms, and lots of ducks.
Hi Mom's
I live in delaware county PA and am looking to find a place to go see ducks with the kids. I'm looking for that secret, out of the way place that people know about (but I don't). I have been to Ridley Creek State Park and Linvilla Orchards many times. Does anybody have a nice little place they go to and they see some duckies in the water???
Thanks so much! I didn't know there were so many parks and ponds in the area. If I don't run out of gas we'll be road tripping all weekend.

Hi S.,
This would be a bit of a drive for you, but the Wissahickon in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia (Fairmount Park) has ducks by the Valley Green Restaurant. You can access "Forbidden Drive" from Henry Avenue. There is a wonderful walk/bike path all along the Wissahickon. If you were going to be in Manayunk, Chestnut Hill or King of Prussia, it would be a nice visit. Here is the web site for Valley Green Inn which will get you to the general area: http://www.valleygreeninn.com.
The four legged family members would love it, too.
there are always big groups (a gaggle?) of ducks and geese on kelly drive. also west river drive.
There is a lake in Ridley Park just behind Ridley Middle School and across from Lakeview Elementary School. There are lots of ducks and geese there!
Tyler Arboretum has a pond...that may get a duck or two...but definately has turtles. It also has a butterfly house which will be operational by late June. It is a great place to go.
When I was little I went to Delaware County Community College and they used to have ducks. But there's no parking near the pond and its not "out of the way". The children's zoo at the Philly Zoo has a big duck pond. That's all I can think of now. Good Luck!
We go to the pond at Haverford College a lot it's nice there is a large field the kids can run in and there are ducks and geese. We also go to Chanticleer a good amount it is Five dollars per adult but free for kids. There aren't ducks but there are fish and turtles in the pond and sometimes you can find frogs. It's just fun for the kids to be outside to run around. Good luck we are really lucky in this area with lots of nice outdoor places for the children to use.
Hi S., I live in Ridley township and we have a lake in Ridley park loaded with ducks and geese roaming free. Hoped I helped. Kristin
we go to the duck pond at Haverford College in Haverford.
It is small and has a great walking trail right next to it.
Delaware County Community College has ducks. So does Haverford College.
There is a small duck pond near the park in Narberth. If you take Wynnewood Rd and turn left into Narberth through the tunnel, it is on your left.
