I live in Commerce Twp and my son works at a local Pizza restaurant. Yesterday he came home with an adorable little kitten that he found scrounging through the dumpster. We cannot keep the kitten. It is already using the litter box and eats dry cat food. Does anybody know of a kitty rescue or know someone that might want it. I already have two cats and my husband is already mad that it is here. I need to get rid of it fast! It is a long hair, female, white with grey spots. Very affectionate. I checked the local lost and found in the paper and did not find an ad for a lost kitten.
Just wanted to thank you all for your suggestions. My phone partner at work took the Kitten for me until we can find a good home. We had the kitten checked out at the vet today with shots and a de-wormer and she is off to her new foster home. I have a feeling, after seeing the look on my co-workers face (and her husbands) that the Kitten will be will be staying with them for a long time! If it doesn't work out I have all the information you all sent me. Thanks again to my Mamasource friends.
Have you called Lakeside Animal Hospital right there at the corner of Union Lake Rd and Willow? We got our cat there, someone had decided to give him up. I'm sure if they have room they'll take him or help you find somewhere close. Tell them you have a friend who got her cat from Dr.Rezler. Maybe name dropping the vet's name will help.
I adopted my kitty through the Cat Connection. They had an adoption day at the PetSmart...I think in Commerce Twp!!
The pound takes cats that are friendly and finds them homes. They are only euphanized if they are deemed not adoptable based on personality factors.

Ask your vet if they can find a home for it, if they don't call around to other local vets. Ours is in Highland and they take in stray kittens every year and find homes for them.
