I have a couple of friends who sell it, but to be honest it's REALLY expensive and I have declined the invites in the last year b/c I just can't justify spending that amount on costume jewelry. It's beautiful, but consider who your "customers" would be and whether or not they are able to afford the products b/c they will feel pressured to purchase if they attend the party.
I have a friend who is just starting out with Lia Spohia. I attended O. party and booked a party myself. I think the pp is right when she says you need to add other salespeople down the line, maybe?
The product is VERY nice and the lifetime guarantee is a nice feature. I didn't have a very big party but was quite please with the dollars I earned toward "free" jewelry for myself. I don't know how they make any money! LOL
As with any multi level marketing scheme, you get out what you put in.
Are you willing to travel around to complete strangers home pushing jewelry?
How many nights do you feel comfortable being out? Me personally, I can only be out about 3 nights a week, and that is consumed with my kids needs right now. Anymore and I'm literally a pumpkin.
I personally have been invited to so many Lia parties and have declined ALL b/c it's just costume jewelry. I can only wear pure gold or silver against my allergic type skin. Oh, delicate me....And Targets, Ross's, TJ Maxx's are loaded with costume jewelry on sale all the time.
And Life time warranties mentioned below are so worthless. I've bought a lot of Pampered Chef products over the years at parties, but something goes wrong??? No one is willing to replace it. They want you to go back to the original sales person? What...that was 4 states ago for me?
I sold Discovery Toys many years ago. Never made any money. Kids had some awesome toys though, and we gave some great gifts to Nieces and Nephews.
The parties help you break even with your expenses. To really earn some serious $, you need to recruit your "down line." Other saleswomen.
There are many home based businesses out there. It is all up to you to find what you like, how you will have to market it, how you will present, and the products and of course, the compensation. There are many party based businesses like lia, premier and Park Lane for jewelry (and I'm sure there are more). With the party based you depend on the parties to make you your money and what I did not like about them (even tho love many different products) is that you have to be constantly asking for parties. I ended up going with something that was consummable and people used. I like my company's strong financial record, the products, the training and I like getting residual income that I make every month.
I looked into Lia Sophia and Premier Designs both. Honestly, you make more with Premier. After some serious consideration though, I decided to just stick solely with selling Mary Kay since I have a great client base already and those products are consumable...not to mention you make more with it.
I looked into several businesses that offered part time options which allowed me to work from home. I found that Monavie offers a strong compensation plan and excellent customer service. And yes, I have made money and continue to make money each week. They give you a Visa debit card and you get paid each week for based on your efforts. I did Southern Living at Home for a few years and never made money at it. I'm not pushy at all. And I wanted the stuff for myself, so my profit always went in to discounted products. But that was me :).
I have a friend who does it and likes it, but to be honest, I don't know if she really makes any sort of decent money out of it. They do have some cool stuff though!
