My son is turning 4 THIS MONTH and he has his heart set on a party at "Chuck E Cheeses". From my experience they can be iffy on cleanliness and quality of service so I could REALLY use some advice from the experienced. Sorry for the rush request but the party has to be in March so I'm sure you can see the bind that I am in. Thank you very VERY much! I hope that I can return the favor in the future! Take care!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone the party turned out really nice! I took your advice and had the party in the middle of the week and in the evening (wed.3/25 6pm) and there was only one other party and a few walk in's. We chose the Johnson's Ferry/Lower Roswell Rd. location because of it's conveniance. We had a party of 13 kids and about 20+ adults. The only complaint I have is of feeling rushed and torn in different directions. Though is wasn't by the kids! The manager & server (mostly the mananger) may have been having an off day but I showed up a half hour early to get settled and the moment I walked through the door they were badgering me about what all of the kids wanted to drink and how many adult cups I would need. Although they had agreed to wait for the final adult head count and drink orders for the kids until the party started and all the guests had arrived they continued to ask me less than every 5 min. even after telling them that we were fine and that we would let them know if we needed something. They also were not very good at keeping track of coins, food orders, ect.. We almost got overcharged on drink cups and shorted on tokes by at least 3 kids worth and the additional tokens for the birthday child by ordering online. They seemed to be very overwhelmed by the size of our party. The other party was only 6 kids and it ran more smoothly although they had a few complaints as well. My advice is...If you have a party over 7 & are providing food/drinks for the adults as well, KEEP TRACK of EVERYTHING! Also the parent's are less overwhelmed if they get a few tokens too! ;p lol Other than that the staff was very friendly, great with the kids, and corrected their mistakes. The parents weren't too overwhelmed and the kids had a blast! I will try this again but only because my younger son wants to have a "Chuck E. Cheeses" b-day too and it's only fair right? :) Next time though I will make sure that Jeanie is scheduled so that the party will be a little less stressful. Thank God I had help and thank you all for your advice!

Hi K.,

I was just at a birthday party this weekend at the Cobb CEC. It was loud, busy and crazy for any parents. I'm 32. I would advise to have the party turning a weekday even if you can only do it in the evening. Hope this helps!

My experience with going to parties is to have it on a weekday. Weekends are always too crowded and hot. So, find one near you, check it out and if you like it, plan for a weekday dinner.

Have fun!

Just say no. Make pizza with his help, and go play some games somewhere better afterwards with one friend. Just say no! to the crazy birthday routine!

I swore I'd never have a Chuck E Cheese party but when my dtr pleaded to have one for her 5th b-day I caved in.

My dtr had a party at the one on Johnson Ferry and Roswell Rd several yrs ago. Had a great experience due to a few factors: 1) Had it on a Thursday evening, 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This allowed for kids who had working parents or afterschool activities to make it. 2) had almost no one in the place - everyone had gone home for dinner 3) had unbelievable service from our hostess since we didn't have to share her w/ another party 4) since it was almost empty, the noise was at a minimum 5) they serve beer and wine so parents could enjoy a glass as adults along w/ pizza and 6) one of the better values as far as b-day parties go (we had 8 kids w/ tokens + adults for pizza, salad, drinks for less than $125).

Well, we've had our parties at the one on Barrett Pkwy....we love Rachel as our server she's the best. My experience the earlier to the party the better for all kids, adults and the place itself. You can request servers I'd request her she was great with the kids and saw to our every need....will be having another party there this year, we have 3 kids. Had 2 parties there last yr and the youngest gets his this yr. Best of luck.

Hi K..

My son really enjoys the CEC at Cumberland, off of Cumberland Blvd. It is behind the mall. It is not too big, but it is clean and bright and fun for him! It has a good salad bar too...

We went to a birthday party at 10:30AM on Saturday, and it was great! Not very many parties or kids at that time. The kids played until about 12:30 then they took a good, long nap! ;)

Good luck and have fun!

There is a Chuck E. Cheese on the corner of Johnson Ferry and Roswell Rd. (By NTB and across from LA Fitness). I'm alos in your zip code, so this will be close to you as well. If you don't know where this is, send me a private email and I'll help you out. Although I haven't been in a while as my kids are 10, every time I've been I've been satisfied. Good luck and have fun!
