Call Crysalis in Minneapolis/St. Paul. They have $20 legal advice clinics that are amazing and they make lawyer recommendations from there.
Hi - I'm not entirely happy about posting this publicly, but the lawyer I originally contacted is not answering my question about insurance and I need to start my search over again. I don't want to discuss particulars online, but suffice to say that my family is non traditional. I need to find a lawyer who is respectful of this and who takes ARAG insurance. Any ideas or recommendations?
Note that I have looked into free alternatives via the library system, etc, and I have a very specific reason why I feel that I need to opt for a lawyer at this time.
My husband and I are amicable about the terms of the divorce. We just want this over!
[Edited to add - ARAG is legal insurance that includes coverage for divorce costs. We've been living apart for the past two years and really just need to finalize the details at this point so we can move on with our lives.]

I don't know any lawyers to recommend, but I would strongly suggest securing a financial advisor to help you manage assets, and questions like insurance. Perhaps this is why the lawyer isn't being helpful. Besides, unless you specialize in this yourself, you're going to need one to help you as you get on your feet.
Lauri Salverda at Lenander Advisory is a financial planner who works and is certified as a divorce specialist and does know of lawyers in the area. They are located in Richfield, MN. She may know someone and/or maybe able to help you out with other resources. Good luck and sorry that it has been a rough road for you.
Doug Radunz is a divorce lawyer in downtown Minneapolis. He works in the same building I do. Not sure about th ARAG, but you could call and ask.
