Looking for a Good Moisturizer or Light Make-up That Decreases Facial Redness!

My daughter takes a medication that makes her face very red. She uses a SPF 70 sunblock, so we don't think it's due to the phototoxicity of the medication - it must be some other side effect or a side affect of a combination of her medications (she takes a few for various health issues). Anyway, we are looking for a good anti-redness cream or make-up that would help tone things down a bit so she's not always getting "where did you get that sunburn!" comments from folks. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks :).

Not sure how old is your daughter...I can highly recommend Bare Minerals. Its all natural and it feels very light on the skin.

Mario Badescu products are amazing, I have Rosacea and they have completely helped. They are sold at nordstrom downtown is where I have bought mine but palo alto should carry them. I use the couperose keratoplast cleanser and kera moisturiser dor redness and my favorite Special Healing Powder $12.

From the website http://www.mariobadescu.com/Couperose-Skincare-Regimen#Pr...
What Triggers the Redness?
Couperose skin is often delicate and sensitive, making it easily aggravated and thus prone to redness. Avoid excessive use (or use altogether) of:

Hot/cold water on the skin
Extreme temperatures
Sun exposure
Hot/spicy foods
Certain medications
Harsh/overly strong skincare products
Anything that causes blood to rush to the face should be avoided.

Hi Mama
First, ask her doctor/dermatologist for suggestions and make sure to mention all the medications she's taking, but I do like the Aveeno rec's because Aveeno is a trusted mild product. I'd think that keeping things as mild/gentle as possible so you don't cause any further irritation (fragrance free etc) would be key. (I'd guess definitely avoid any "hydroxy" type products.) Also maybe re-read the paperwork that comes with her medications to make sure you're following all instructions/suggestions/warnings to a T. There may be some things there that your Dr didn't go over or you've forgotten about that can provide ways to avoid certain unwanted side affects.

Best of luck to your and your young lady :)

Look for something with "calming" in the name.
Aveeno hs an "Ultra-Calming" line with an SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer that calms redness...

They also have a very nice tinted moisturizer that I use instead of foundation. Very light.

I second Bare Minerals. I recently started using it and am very please with it. It's very light and I have found it evens out your skin tone very well and covers up redness too.

Aveeno has a calming anti-redness facial lotion called something like Ultracalming Daily Moisturizer.

Could it be Rosacea?
Clinique has a line called Redness Solution that deals with it.
