I am looking for someone in the McKinney area who can do floor tiling. I have already purchased the tile but just not experienced enough or fearful enough to put it down. I would at least like the kitchen done but do have enough tile for the two baths as well. I have it all prepped and ready, baseboards removed etc and just want the tile laid over the existing vinyl.
I have found an amazing man who can do pretty much anything floor wise. He's very professional, works on his own so you don't have the big overhead ie. lowe's, home depot, etc. After the first fiasco of the people coming in making a huge mess he was able to make it look amazing. He's reasonable, fast and reliable. I did see where some of you were also looking for someone to install carpet that you already have and he does that as well. I may have a guy for you. My parents just had their kitchen remodeled and their tile guy was GREAT...turns out, he is an ex-student of mine. As a middle schooler, you could tell he was a GREAT kid from a really good family. As a worker, my parents were referred his name and he did wonderful work, was very clean, and VERY timely. Hope you are feeling alright. My brother is a contractor & has been helping us remodel our house room by room (as we can afford it!) He did ceramic tile in our house- living room, kitchen, laundry roon & bath. It looks great! He is a great guy- trustworthy, honest, likeable and very reasonable. I haven't asked him about it, but no matter who you chose, I would get more than one opinion on going over the vinyl. It sounds like a real bad idea to me- might end up costing you more in the long run as tiles might crack if layed over uneven vinyl. Just a suggestion- I could be totally wrong :)
