I gave birth to baby boy 6 weeks ago.i have been facing loss of bladder control issue where I stand up and urine just poured down on floor From bladder and it has been 6 week and still it's not imimproved.i am feeling depress. I have been doing kegal exercise too.i don't think kegal exercises helping me out. Anyone else had this kind of issue before?what else I can do to fix the bladder problem.

I already consult my ob\gyn and than my ob\gyn refereed me to urogynacologist.urogyncaologist said that she never have seen such profuse urine leakage. She did Ct scan and cystoscopy and all tests results are normal. She diagnosis it as sever stress incontinence and asked me to wait and do kegal exercises.I just want to if anybody had this kind of situation?if yes than how much it took to cure it completely.

P.S.:My is not just leakage.it's like whole gush of urine coming our when I stand up.

What can I do next?

its called pelvic floor disorder.
there are restorative exercises for it (yes better than kegles) , though many resort to surgery.
From my research I understand that pregnancy exasperates this issue but does not cause it. It boils down to poor alignment. Your core and pelvic floor were not strong enough to support the pregnancy. So in addition to restorative exercises, you are going to have to seriously look at your alignment (closely related to, but not the same as posture). Its a rabbit hole. trust me. Here are a few teasers to get you started.

welcome to mamapedia.

I'm sorry people didn't respond fast enough and you felt the need to post twice.

You need to see a Urologist for this. The way they can fix it is installing a bladder sling to pick your bladder back up off the pelvic floor. You most likely carried VERY low during pregnancy, which pushed your bladder out of place.

You will need to attend physical therapy to help build up the muscles in your pelvic region. It won't be easy. It will hurt.

You need to purchase the Depends underwear so that you can stand up, sneeze, cough or whatever without having to worry if you are going to wet yourself.

I 2nd the Pelvic Floor Disorder.

Please consult a Physical Therapist, female variety, and ensure they are pelvic floor experts and have extra training and certification. They can prescribe helpful exercises, above and beyond the Kegel exercise.

Also, since the other medical tests came back normal, it sound that you are not doing the Kegel exercises correctly. A physical therapist or Urology RN or office can conduct internal bio-feedback for your pelvic floor and they can ascertain if your squeezing correctly, to gain the most benefit. You'd be surprised at the number of women who think they are doing Kegel's and they aren't.

You'll probably need some insurance authorization for the above testing bu you should definitely pursue the physical therapy avenue.

Ask to see a different Urologist. Preferably a woman that has had children. I did not have it as bad as you, but did have nerve damage and had to undergo pelvic floor physical therapy. It definitely helped! Good Luck!

After my third baby, it wasn't so much "pouring down" with me, more of just a leakage. I thought it was just because I just had a baby and my pelvic floor was week, I would do exercises and lost the baby weight, even then it took about 1yr for it not to happen anymore. I also made sure I squeezed out all the urine when I went to RR. I would do planks and that strengthened my pelvic floor. Reading all the other posts, maybe I should have looked into it.
