I just want to applaud all moms who raise their kids resisting the urge to sell them when the band of gypsies comes to town!

Just so you know they don't offer you much for them. :p

*claps*

Seriously being a mom is hard work and I don't think any of us get praise for it. Most of us the best interaction is on occasion being thrown up on.. I have boys, I have been peed on. :( Thank god they look so cute when they sleep, ya know, even my husband looks cute when he sleeps. :)

So who else agrees, no matter how you go about doing it being a mom is hard? How many of us would do it all again if given a choice? :)

Ya know it might even be possible that being a dad is hard work.....nah! :p

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh gads the mug, I forgot about the mug, see I am appreciated. Does anyone else have some crazy looking mug you drink coffee out of. A mug that you are not sure would actually pass EPA standards for safety? Oh wait that was the plate that had the warning not food safe. :p

Molly, I know she meant well, poor dear.

Theresa, shhhhh.

I have one - he is 6. I would do it again - at the same age (40) and the same number (1). DH says that human babies learn to smile at the exact age that they would be left for the wolves if they did not. I think the angelic sleeping is another evolutionary adaptation that prevents parents from abandoning them.

Saw the greatest quote on Pinterest the other day....it pretty much sums up my feelings about my kids:

They know me in a way no one ever has
They open me to things I never knew existed
They drive me to insanity and push me to my depths
They are the beat of my heart, the pulse of my veins, and the energy in my soul
They are my kids

I love my kids but am glad I'm out of diapers and the potty training stage!!

Well Thumper, I'll meet you AND raise you.

I ALSO applaud Moms who CHOOSE NOT TO STRANGLE THEIR HUSBANDS WHILE THEY'RE SLEEPING!

Reminds me of a jingle

Skinny kids, fat kids
Even kids with chicken pox
Hot dogs, ARMOUR hots dogs,
The dogs kids love to bite!

Ahem, anyway, sorry for breaking out in song.

Amen to that! :)

I just told my 8 y/o yesterday that I firmly believe God made babies so cute and amazing so that us parents would fall completely head over heels for them and it would keep us from selling them to the gypsies. He replied that gypsies don't really exist...hmmmm.

I am doing it again.

And actually, if it weren't for my husband, I'm sure there would have been a prime-time news segment about me for some reason or another. He's an amazing father & husband and has provided for us in way more ways than one. He really holds my family together. I'm a good mother because HE is a great man.

I never thought about gypsies. I might have to track some down. I tell them that it's a good thing God made them so cute so I don't beat them to death. My boys are about to drive me totally nuts. But yes are so cute when they sleep!!!

I applaud all moms who consistently put their children before themselves. That comes in all different forms but that's my definition of a good mother. And yes, being a mother is very hard but of course I'd do it again - though I'm not done yet!

one of my daycare moms was stressed as she was leaving my house this morning.....angst at home with the older kids. I noticed she was leaving with the diaper bag on her arm & stopped her at the door. She felt such relief that I had noticed & thanked me for taking care of her. She said she appreciated having someone watch out for her. My next response blew her out of the water. I said, "oh, please. You know I love you!". She had a huge smile on her face as she left.....& I felt comfortable saying what I did - because I've known her for 21+ years!

It's the little things which can make us so happy. For me, yes....I'd do it all over again. I have many regrets & wish I'd hugged my sons more - regardless of how they felt about it!

Go us moms! We work our butts off day and night and deserve all the kudos in the world but rarely receive much recognition.

I would do it 1000x over again and wouldn't want either of my children any other way. My stubborn and brilliant 8 year old daughter drives me insane but I know she's going to do something remarkable with her life. Oh how I love the "language" of my autistic nonverbal 5 year old little boy. I see so much intelligence in him and I know he knows it's there too; I'm looking forward to seeing who it is he develops into.

This mug you speak of, I'm drinking out of one right now and am enjoying my dark chocolate butter toffee coffee!

Hope all you moms and dads out there have a wonderful day. :D

Oh, yeah, definitely. I have 13 yr old trips that really drive me nuts. Is there anything they cannot argue about? Also a 4 yr old that just totally drives me batty. She is dealing with some major jealousy issues because my almost 6 month old (where did the time go?!) takes daddy's time. And my 6 month old is an awesome boy that only gives us a hard time when he has a poopy diaper or really tired. I really hope he stays that way.

And dad? He is another child!

I do have the mug, but I'm afraid to drink out of it, so I keep pencils in it "so we can ALL enjoy it".....wink, wink........ I'm glad the kids bought that explanation! :)

A whoop and a holler for all the awesome parents out there!

Tell me why they drive me so crazy that I hope, wish, and pray for a break. Just to go to the bathroom by myself would be so luxuious! But 30 minutes after they leave, I miss the little crumb snatchers like crazy. Then, of course, 30 minutes after getting them back, I'm wishing for a break again!

The gypsies, I love it!
We have "Madeliene and the Gypsies" on current rotation from the library so this makes me smile. My 5 y/o has been trying to wrap her head around who the gypsies are and why they wanted Madeleine and Pepito to join their traveling circus and not give them back. I can't help but notice that Miss Clavel doesn't try very hard to find them for the first couple weeks...

o yes they drive me insane.... just yesterday i had a bday to go to, house to clean for company today, dinner to cook and rearrange my DS room all while watching my 3mth old and my 22mth DS..... It was funny i was running around and super stressed and it just seemed like my 22mth old was just getting in the way.... he dumped his bowl of cheese puffs all over the floor and so i went and lifted up the couch made him pick em all up and put them back in the bowl and instead of getting him new ones and just let him eat em. My husband walked in about that time and saw my son eating cheetos from under the couch and goes wow hunny are you shooting for mom of the year lol...... i couldnt help help laugh i was just to damn tired to worry about a few dust bunnies my son was eating lol.....
