can I come????? I think he would love it the roar is what makes the show. might as well plan on a monster truck for christmas from santa. :)
My son will be 3 1/2 in feb, and i am tossing around the idea of getting monster truck tickes for christmas for him and daddy to go to the end of january. It has been ages since i have been to a monster truck show and i know for a fact my son would LOVE it as he is obsessed with trucks and jumps and wheelies, etc. I am not sure though if he is at an age to go to a show yet. I know they are very loud and dont know if it would be to loud for little ears, or not. Have any of you brought your kids to a monster truck show, and if so what age do you think is best for them to go? What was your experience if you did bring your 3 yo? My second choice is a trip to chuckie cheese, which would be fun to. Just thought id get some opinions. I dont want to spend the money on monster truck tickets if he is a little to young yet. Thanks!!

My sister took my son for his 4th birthday and he still talks about it a year later. If you can, spend a little extra and get pit passes before the show. He will be able to see the "big trucks" up close. He would love it!
My husband and I took our 3 year old early this year, and he LOVED it! Definitely get some ear protection. We used noise reduction ear phones, the kind that cover the whole ear, instead of the kind you stick in the ear.
We took our kids around that age. My son loves cars and loved it! We did buy some cheap ear plugs you can get at Walgreens (1.00). Be sure to bring your own, they sell them there and they are really pricey!
My daughter loved it! She was a little over 3 years old when we went. It was very loud and my daughter does have issues with loud nosies so her ears were covered most of the time but her big eyes and oooohs and aaaaahs were preiceless. If he likes trucks, smashing I think it will be fun :)
for ear protection when we took my then 1 and 3 year olds to air shows and monster truck shows is the ones you use at the rifle range. They are head phones and will work better on little ears then the foam ones which won't give much protection.
I'm getting monster truck tickets for us -and our two boys ages 4 and 2 for January! They both LOVE monster trucks and love to watch them on YouTube. I will be taking earplugs for both and I've just ordered noise protection headphones for my oldest. He is EXTREMELY sensitive to loud noises and misses many things he would otherwise enjoy because he can't handle the noise level. So, we'll be taking the headphones and earplugs. I know it will be very loud, but with ear protection you should be in good shape! One of my best friends took her son between ages 3 and 6 every year and he loved it! Look into getting a ticket or pass for the "before" time when the kids can go down and inspect the trucks and talk to the drivers.
AWESOME IDEA...we took our 5 month old and we went with another couple that had a 1 year old and a 3 1/2 year old that were all amazed...even the Daddies! Just bring ear plugs because it is very loud!
I took my son at the exact same age...to probably the exact same show in Minneapolis. He was very in to cars, trucks, construction equipment...basically anything with wheels. He LOVED it...and talked about it for years! Just make sure to buy some great earplugs (like the industrial headsets you can find at Home Depot or Lowes). It is a GREAT place for people watching...and very entertaining. I wouldn't think twice...he will absoultely love it!
sounds great to me; just dont neglect one important feature: EAR PROTECTION. and im not talking the cheapy foam things you put in your ear (ouch!) get some nice heavy duty full coverage ear protection. the kind we had allowed the loud noises to be blocked/reduced while you could still hear quiet noises like talking.
anyway, get BOTH of them some ear protection with those tickets. then GO FOR IT! :)
We took my son to one indoors when he was 5. We bought the early show tickets and went to the pit party where he got to meet the drivers and stand next to the trucks! That was his favorite part.
It is very loud. Bring some type of headphones that cover his ears, not just the buds. There is a lot of down time, especially if the area is small.
Be prepared and okay to head out early if needed. My son loved the trucks but got bored with the down time so we headed out a little bit before the end, when he was ready not us. I think it was okay since we had done the pit party and he'd seen them up close.

I've taken my boys to monster truck shows before and they loved it! As for the noise, take ear protection for him. Enjoy! :)
My neighbors take their boys often and according to them, ear protection is a MUST!
I don't really like chuckie cheese so I would go for the monster truck tickets. Make sure you get ear plugs they are very loud I'm sure your son will enjoy it!
Oh, he will love it! My in-laws took my son when he was just 2 (well, almost 3) and they go every year! Just get a pair of the earmuff headphones for the noise.
I'm taking a human biology course right now, and in our book it says that children's ears are more sensitive and they do need protection from loud noise. Damage to the tiny hairs inside our ears is not reversible. I'd say go for it, but use ear protection.
I had this EXACT question but never got around to posting. I was more concerned about the fumes than the noise. I think I'D have a bigger issue with those two things than my son so I suppose I better think this through.
We took our son and daughter when they were about 5 and 3. My brother ran a wrecker so we could be in the pit crew. The kids were overwhelmed by the noise and the hugeness of the trucks. I suppose it depends on the kids. I thought they would love it, but they were too young...
If it's indoor, it's not just the noise you have to worry about - the fumes are horrible!!! We went to one 2yrs ago, so my kids were 4 and 6 and we left early because the kids were coughing and almost crying. Never Ever again will we go to an indoor monster truck show. We might try one outside though.......
You could take him to the monster truck rally. Just get him ear plug so his ears don't get damaged or start to ring after a long period of time.
It depends on the kid, but if he's not scared of loud noises like fire works, I think he'd do fine. We found that it's worth it to buy the ear protectors that look like big headphones (not just ear plugs).
