Hello M.. Slightly heated Windex should help. I know it sounds strange but it works~! I learned this at a jewelery store when I was trying to get my rings off to be cleaned. Good luck and welcome to North Carolina.

Pick out a good jeweler, that you can let resize the rings. Let them tell you what to do. If they have to cut them off, they know how. Good luck.

With the right jeweler it should not damage it. It is going to have to be resized so they are going to have to cut it to add to it. My brother in law is a jeweler and my wife and I have had to had ours resized before. Ask around and find the best one in your area and everything should be fine.

put your hand in ice for a few minutes, then use some oil of a sort. It should come off. First thing in the morning is usually easier too. Good luck and God Bless!

I use Triple Lanolin hand cream. It is very thick, but soaks in quickly. I have used it to try on a ring that I knew would be too tight - and I have used it to take off a ring when my hands swelled so badly !!!! Try holding your hand in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator.

About friends: Look for a Federated Woman's Club. We moved from one city to another 43 years ago, I joined a
FWC then, and my friends are still ones I made through that club. Try to find one that is active - that
usually means younger women, and they may have children young enough to play with your son.

Also, in our neighborhood are groups of young mothers:
MOPS, mothers of pre-schoolers - and off hand I can't think
of the name of the other group.

Call the Chamber of Commerce in your city and ask for addresses and/or telephone numbers of these organizations
in your part of town.

If that doesn't work, write me and I will try to find a
NCFWC. The program is excellant, young women are too busy
to be gossips, and you should gain much from being a member!!!!

I had something similar happen to me and I panicked..but don't. You need to go to the Boy Scouts Of America website and search for "ring removal". I quite easily got mine off by using a piece of yarn. Basically you wrap you finger with the yarn in a coil-like pattern, slide it through your ring (yes, you CAN get it under there...) and then slowly pull and unwind the ring off your finger. I did an online search because mine was stuck on my knuckle and my finger began to swell, hence getting stuck and I found this. The yarn distributes the skin on your finger and you can just unscrew the ring. It's actually pretty neat.
Good luck!

I used the weight watchers diet after I had my baby and with in weeks I was almost back to my normal size. I wouldn't give up on your pre pregnancy body just yet. Just a thought.

windex works great! Just spray it on your hand and work the ring off.

Even EMT's can cut a ring without damaging it more than a slick cut...so the last choice of a good jeweler cutting it should be a good idea.

When your hands are cold your ring may move easier along with lotion or oil. If you eat a lot of salty stuff try staying away from that also. The water retention, which almost everyone has to some degree, along with the other things may allow you to work it off your finger.

Head to a good bench jeweler and have it cut off. It will have to be cut to change the size so you might as well have it done by a professional.

one day when you're outside and it's cold. hang out without gloves for a while until your fingers shrink a little. Without getting all worked up (it will cause your heart to race and thus increase blood flow, increasing finger size), try getting it off with butter, oil, lotion, or whatever. twist instead of pull

I am not sure but I believe I would try some ICE to see if maybe it will shrink the finger so you can get the ring off.

I had this same problem, only not as long. First thing in the morning before you drink/eat anything is when the swelling will be the least, and may be your only hope. Then use oil or something as well. It may hurt a bit. Also, you might try calling a jeweler and asking. I think they might have to cut it anyway to resize it, but maybe that's for making it smaller. When I took it in, only one prong (of the four) was holding the diamond in. I hadn't had it looked at in the 8+ years I had worn it - so was lucky it hadn't fallen out.

maybe some ice to bring down any swelling.

if they are going to make it bigger, ask a jeweler if cutting a small snip would be ok b/c they may have to add to it to size it bigger anyway.

M.,
This happens to us all at some point! I suggest submerging your hand in iced water for a couple of minutes. Your finger will shrink up enough in order to retain heat allowing you to slip the ring off. Have some oil nearby to lube up the stubborn ring. It helps me to lift the ring up and over my knuckle. Good luck!
