We love Myrtle Beach, Sc and usually stay at the Island Vista but we have only been in summer and their indoor pool area is quite small. We would love to find a resort with a large indoor pool area as we have a 5 year old daughter. We would also like to be on the ocean. What places do you recommend or don't recommend? What is the weather like? We will be there from December 27th- New Years.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

We had a blast in Myrtle Beach over winter break. We started our stay at The Anderson in a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo. It was huge! The things I did not like were #1 - the pool area. You have to cross a parking area to access the pool area and it was cold doing so. The pool area was decent size but I felt somewhat claustrophobic because it was so enclosed. It was also not as kid friendly as we would have hoped. For New Year's eve we stayed at The Hampton Inn on Ocean Blvd. What a fantastic hotel! We had a 2 bedroom/2 bath also but we felt closer to the ocean when out on the balcony. The Indoor pool area was bright and airy with 2 huge heated pools and 2 hot tubs. There is also a lazy river, kids pool and regular pool outdoor but it was too cold for us to try them out. They also had a hot tub outside which we didn't use but other people did. The Hampton has a playground and 4 hammocks which our daughter really enjoyed. We went to Broadway at the Beach and Mini- golfed as well as rode rides at the Pavillion and played in the arcade. On New Year's Eve they had a fantastic fireworks display also. It was nice to be able to walk around without large crowds of people and we really enjoyed ourselves. Myrtle Beach is our new favorite vacation destination!

We like Ocean Creek Resort in Myrtle--right across from Barefoot Landing. I think each building has it's own indoor pool....check out the website if you're interested.

Hi R., I live here in Myrtle Beach, I would suggest Staying at the Marina at the Grande Dunes,
http://marinainnatgrandedun2-px.trvlclick.com/index.aspx

It is very close to Barefoot Landing, and not far from Broadway at the Beach. Were you guys wanting to stay in the North End, or South End? If you have any questions please let me know!!
