My red nail polish bottle spilt over onto my white carpet. Tried nail polish remover and it didn't budge it. Got any ideas on how to get the polish out of the rug?

I once did this too and the ONLY thing that worked and didn't damage the carpet, was brake cleaner. You can find it at an auto store. It does have very strong fumes however, you will not need to rub, rinse or dry. BELIEVE ME, this will work!
Call a professional RIGHT AWAY!!!! It happened to me too, but my rug was tan colored and it came out. DO NOT TRY TO DO THIS YOURSELF!!! YOU WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE!!! Be sure the carpet cleaner knows the situation and has a plan to spot clean it. Good luck.
SHAVING CREAM!! It works! I did the same thing, but at my brother's girlfriends house! It took it right off! Let me know if it works!!
I would call a professioanl carpet cleaner,
Hi P.,
Melaleuca has an outstanding product - Solumel - that will take out nail polish very easily. Depending on where you are I'd love to show you how.
It's fabulous! It's called Sol-u-mel and it's made by Melaleuca, the wellness Company. Please call me and I can explain how best to use it. It will take all the red polish out like an eraser (like magic)!

I LOVE Sol U Mel because it works on everything... eliminates cat litter box oder, gets EVERYTHING out that I have ever tried it on, and is a great all purpose cleaner around the house. Not possible. Cut the cpt yarns in the area (not the backing).
only to call a carpet cteaner place.
Good luck
I read somewhere to try castille liquid soap. Also try that oxyclean powder for the laundry. Sprinkle that on there and add a little water and make it into a paste and let it soak a little. You probably start to see it draw it out.
ok so you have had a few responses to your issue. However, you can try acetone you can get pure acetone at a beuty supply store or a drug store. Also you can get the nail polish remover with acetone and that should work. Good Luck!!!!
