Hi Momma's!!

I need some help finding a middle name for my daughter! I'm 35 weeks pregnant and we've sorta decided on REESE as the first name (I say sorta cause we're still "trying" it out, but so far I'm loving it). I want a very feminine middle name since Reese is androgynous. Also, I feel that a two syllable middle name is more appropriate since I don't want her middle name to become part of her first name ie Resse Ann. My last name is two syllables and starts with a C. As some additional background, I have a one year old daughter named Morgan Denise. Thanks for all your help!

A.

So What Happened?

Thank all of you so much for your help! The suggestions are amazing and really helpful. My husband really likes Reese Nicole while I'm more partial to Resse Elizabeth. We're going to run them by family members and get an overall opinion before making our final decision! Some other favorites of mine were Resse Addison, Reese Kathryn, and Resse Justine. Once we "lock" in our name, I'll update again and let you all know! Thanks again for all your help!!! I <3 Mamapedia!!!

I could go on and on....it would be helpful with your last name...but 2 or 3 syllables may be best.
Once you pick something try it out on people of all generations. I picked out a name that i loved once and heard my grandmother say it with an accent and then switched it to her middle name. (that was Simone---said with an accent that eliminated the 'ne on the end).

We named our daughter Reese McKenna. We also had a hard time finding a middle name that "fit" with Reese for the same reasons. It needed a nice flow. We have a long german last name. She's 15 months now and I've rarely ever used her middle name and once even had to ask what it was and how we spelled it! Opps. But I love the name Reese, we often call her Rees(ie) (not sure how to spell it, and a handful of other variations. So of course my vote for you would be Reese McKenna! Good luck. Make sure you post your decision!

Alyssa
Annabelle
Annabeth
Eliza
Elisa
Phoebe?
Amanda (I seem to gravitate towards the A names?)
Pearl (I think I would like a 2+syllable name but this sounds ok to me, not knowing your last name)
Giselle
Sarah, Sara

Good luck! Picking out names is so fun!

Don't feel you have to announce to the world what her name will be before she actually comes! It's enough to know the gender and the date (or approximately) but to also tell people the name takes away the excitement of announcing the birth - 'oh good, little alex is here right on the day the c-section was planned, so I get to tell everyone his birth stats" whee. I'm much more excited to find out the name and admire it rather than oh he's here, oh my what a big/little/average sized baby!

Also and mainly because I went to the hospital intending to name my son this name. When we were there, and he came, the decision to give him a different name came. So, had we told everyone before, it would've been hard to go with our strong impression to change his name. Reserve that right for yourself to change the name when you actually meet your little one.
