My baby sitter just told me that she is going back to school and has to quit effective at the end of the week...can anyone recommend a nanny/daycare somewhere in Buena Park, Cypress, Garden Grove or surrounding area (between home and work)? I need someone 3 days a week while I am at work. I am open to either a nanny coming to my home or taking my 2 boys (9 months and 2.5 years) to a home/facility. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Go to www.orangecountychildcareassociation.org

Orange County CHild Care Assoc. has a FREE referral based on zip codes of St. Lic. Family Child Care Providers, in good standing with DSS and members of this assoc. They have "Area Chairpersons" in each area of Orange County that can answer any and all questions regarding quality child care, as well as give you names and numbers of homes in your immediate neighborhood.
Go to the website and click on referrals. WHen you call your person..let her know that V. gave you this information!>.Good Luck with your search for quality, intentional child care.

I have a few recommendations. I sent my son to an in home daycare in la Palma right by moody/la Palma. Her name is Pratima and her number is ###-###-####. Or you can try the lady I sent my twins to. (I would have used Pratima but she didn't have room for two infants). Her name is Jackie and she is in Buena Park by the mall. Her number is ###-###-####. Good luck. I loved both equally!!!

I have openings in my home daycare. I am in Fountain Valley right off the 405 on Brookhurst and Slater. I provide food (mostly homeade and organic), I can accomodate special diets, we do lots of things throughout the day including: learning time, painting, exercise, dancing, baking, play time, sprinklers, etc.
The reason I decided to do home daycare was because I originally had planned to go back to work after my 4-year-old daughter turned 3 and when I put her in pre-school (tried two separate well known schools) I couldn't believe what I saw. Also, she was sick constantly as they are exposed to so many kids and germs, not just the kids in her class. I didn't realize that she would be exposed and playing with approximately 60 -100 different kids on a daily basis. At recess, lunch and afternoon playtime they are all put together.
I also felt she wasn't looked after enough. She would cry when I picked her up if I didn't bring water (and we lived literally five minutes away) because she didn't drink anything ALL day long. Her lunch that I packed her was barely touched almost every day and she'd be starving when I got her. I just felt like there was no personal attention, and at these young ages children need to be reminded even to go to the bathroom let alone eating and making sure they get enough to drink. ( :
There is so much more that I won't bore you with.

If you are interested my name is Dawn
my number is ###-###-####
or cell ###-###-####

You can also call Children's Home Society Resource and Referral Line that will give your daycares within your area, licensed homes and centers, they are open from 9am-3:30pm, ###-###-####. You will have to call licensing and go check them out but at least its a starting point.
