Need an Edocrinologist

Hey Mamas,
So, I've been sick since August...very sick to say the least...and I am pretty sure that it has something to do w/my adrenal glands...it's difficult to get anyone to listen to me, though!! Since I have just moved to the area through all of this illness (I actually had to move in with parents to have help with my kids b/c I was so sick) I am having to start all over again with doctors. I've had food allergy testing done, been tested for celiac's disease, ghiardia, etc etc. ER doctors shake their heads and tell me it's just stress, urgent care doctors do the same, then put anti-anxiety meds in my IV. If I had a life-long doctor and wasn't new to the area, they would know my personality and know that I am not one that "stresses out" about things...I am a pretty laid back person...and I wouldn't think that stress could dehydrate a person!! I lost eight pounds in a week and continue to have terrible dizzy/nauseous episodes that coincide with my cycle...among many many other symptoms. Anyhow, based on cortisol tests that were done a couple of months ago, on reading, and based upon my medical history (lots of prednisone), I feel that I need to find an endocrinologist who will listen to me...the last one I went to wouldn't even listen to me. Can anyone suggest a great doctor? I live in the Lakewood/mockingbird station area. Has anyone out there had adrenal problems? I would love any advice that I can get. Thanks in advance,
S.

I'm a chiropractor that has had much success in this area. If you were given a blood test to test your cortisol, that's only a snapshot and has many more facets to look at. The saliva test I perform in my office will test not only an entire days worth of your cortisol levels (they should go in an up and down rhythm), but will test DHEA, progesterone, insulin, sIgA, gliadin (the last two are very sensitive to whether you're gluten intolerant or sensitive). From these tests I can put you on a very specific vitamin and supplement regime using whole food products to help support your adrenals and get them back on line. If you would like an consultation, at no charge, please call my office at ###-###-####. I'm in Plano. I should only be about 25 minutes from you if you go up 75 to 190. I'm just 5 minutes North on Coit off of 190. If, during the consultation, you wish to get a full exam it will be only $45 (saves $220 for my mamapedia moms!). The adrenal saliva test is $200 and the nutritional consult after is $65 with one follow up in 30 days. I will also give you 10% off your first supplement order. I really hope to help you and get you off this medication roller-coaster. I'm guessing that with your prednisone history that you have gone through a significant autoimmune issue or chronic inflammatory condition?

Stephen Aronoff is near Presbyterian hospital - he put my then 8 year old daughter on her insulin pump years ago. Rajiv Dattatreya is in Irving and is very good. Mostly I know pedi endos but we have seen both of these and worked well with them. Hope you find out what the problem is - my kids have a neuro issue that took awhile to find a doc to listen so I understand.

Hi, I have a great doctor that I see for my diabetes who is also an endocrinologist, she is fabulous. She is very attentive and spends time with you, not one of those doctors who is in for what seems like 30 seconds and out the door. She may be a little difficult to get into at first but her staff is very helpful and she has a nurse practioner that works with her that is also good. She is located at Baylor Dallas on Gaston Ave in the Wadley Tower, Dr Priscilla Hollander. Good luck!

I second the recommendation for Stephen Aronoff. I see him for thyroid problems, and he is very knowledgeable and thorough. He is off 75 near Walnut Hill.

I go to Vani Duvuuri in Richardson on Campbell Road. She is very thorough and will listen forever to you-I know! ( When my thyroid was low-I was at the lowest of energy and very depressed-she sat and listened and helped with new medicine!) I have even walked in to want to see her-and she saw me-without too long of a wait. She is very conservative and careful on treatment-so NO quick fix...be a patient patient! Good luck!
