My newborn grandson has been diagnosed with EB or epidermolyosis bullosa which is a rare skin disease causing blisters from friction like diapers rubbing the skin etc. Babies with this disease don't crawl for very long because of the blisters it causes on their knees. It is so sad and I have never heard of it before . My daughter in law has it and it is a dominant gene. Her two daughters(from another dad) also were born with it, one has it more severe. My son and her were hoping their child would not have it but he does. My daughter in law is an awesome mom and knows how to treat it etc. but it can be bad because the blisters it causes are so susceptible to infection. People with this disease can't wear bandaids on the blisters because they peel the skin off. The blisters have to be popped, covered with ointment and wrapped with gauze. I would like to know if any of you have any knowledge of this disease. Thanks wonderful moms.

So What Happened?

Thank you for all of the great advice and info. My daughter also found a website on facebook to help find a cure for this disease. I can and will always count on you wonderful awesome moms. My grandson is doing well even though he does have ten blisters on his feet, but mom says he is fine and a very happy, healthy, and good baby.

Hi C.,

I'm sorry I don't have first hand knowledge of this issue but I was wondering if you or your daughter have thought of seeking out an Naturopath (ND) to see if there is any alternative treatment. I know this is genetic because it involves a mutation of a gene but sometimes it's possible to "mutate" something in another direction to get an improved condition. There are many alternative clinics in the US that could probably give you some info on who you should talk to. Just a thought....

God bless,

M.

If you haven't checked out Mayoclinic.com, please do so. There is all kinds of information: causes, treatment, home remedies, much more. This is the first website anyone should check with symptoms or conditions. More info than you can imagine. Of course, you can just look up the condition also.
Good luck.
