HELP! I took my son to an ortho close by and was quoted a price of $5500. for braces! Surely there's someone cheaper than that who is still good. We live off of 121 and Hall-Johnson Rd.

You can also try his brother Roland Limosnero ###-###-####. They are both great dentists with an awesome reputation.

The total charge was about $4000 and after insurance we only had to pay 50% of that. They even let you do monthly payments. The price covers all treatment up to a year after braces are off.

In about 1995, we researched the subject and the dentists taht did braces. We had recommendations to Monarch in Plano. We lived in Flower Mound but I figured it was worth it and she had her driver's license anyway. The savings were great, their attitude was great, and my costly dentist saw her result and asked who did such a good job. However, the staff and orthodontist has probably changed since then. Ask to talk to willing clients...
My husband and I both got braces as adults through Johnson & Collins in Southlake (Town Square, above Eddie Bauer). they also have an office in Bedford and Irving. We were very pleased with their work and their customer service during and after treatment.
I will tell you that from what I've seen, you get what you pay for. My friend chose a cheaper ortho for her and her daugher, both had problems afterward, and they were not helpful at all. She and her daugher both have experienced shifting teeth afterward. I say, get it done right the first time!

I live at 121 & Cheek-sparger. As other moms have already mentioned, I am currently using Dr Dyer in Grapevine for my daughter and will be for my son when his 12 year molars come in. They have payment plans and the staff is great. My daughters treatment will end up costing $4600, but that includes ceramic (clear) braces on top and a permenant retainer bonded to the back of her teeth at the end of treatment.
I am a dental hygienist and the quote you got is not a bad price at all but get a couple different consultations. Most orthodontists will do consultations for free. Be very suspicious of any place that advertises as "fast" and that is a chain such as Monarch, Apple, Fast Braces, 6 Day Dental and Next Century Dental. You cannot go wrong with More Smiles (Dr. Terry Moore), Dr. Jesse Schroeder, Dr. Dyer (Grapevine-one of my distant cousins works for him), and Johnson & Collins Orthodontics. Good luck. We have used Dr Jesse Schroeder in southlake. They have payment plans which are resonable. It is true what one of the Moms wrote, " you get what you pay for...". My daughter had an under bite which after 16 months is perfect. She is off braces and now just wears head gear at night. Their staff is great, you dont have to wait long and I feel her results are wonderful. There is an on call person ( at least during the week) if something happens to the braces. I cant say enough nice things about them. Braces are expensive, but when if came to our daughter teeth, we didnt want to nickel and dime it so to speak. Her whole profile has changed, (for the better). Good luck
