Needing a Good OB/GYN

I'm looking for a really good ob/gyn. The two I've seen were terrible and I'm concerned about finding a good doctor that I can see and still be covered by my insurance. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I would second Oakdale OB/GYN. I delivered my baby 10 months ago... I also moved here 10 months ago. I had to change OB's with less than a week left in my pregnacy. I went to North Memorial to get information about delivering there, and the birth consultant there recommended Oakdale. I was so happy and relieved to be treated so wonderfully there (I had a not so great expereince in Rochester). They really take good care of you.

I am a nurse at Unity Hospital where Dr Alexander works. We also have several more OB clinics and lots of family practice that do ob. You can reach me either thru my email or call me at work at ###-###-####. Our staff is great. D.

I go to the Coon Rapids Womens clinic (across from Mercy hospital). I saw Dr. Gorneau. He's really good. He and his nurse work really well together and everytime I've had to call and leave a message asking something, he's always responded very quickly.

I would also suggest Fairview Riverside Women's Clinic. I am currenty 7 mos pregnant so my experience is a little different, but I have seen Dr. Percy and Dr. Turner and they are both great. They really take care of you there.

Hi K..
I have had several different OB/GYN since moving to MN. I got pg two years ago and had a m/c. They told me there that there was nothing that could be done till I had 3 m/c's right in a row. Well that was my 4th m/c, but there had been a 4 yr gap.
anyway my MIL heard of a OB/GYN in Woodbury. I met with her and she was THE BEST I would drive any amount of distance to go to this office. They have now through lots of testing given me my wonderful 8 mon. old son. They are very caring and return calls very quickly.

Hi K.,
I don't see an OB/GYN, but I do love the midwives that are part of the Fairview Riverside Women's Clinic in Minneapolis. They are great. I have seen 6 of them throughout my pregnancy and for the birth of my son. I like them all so much that I don't even care which one I see when I need an appointment. There are some OB/GYN's in their practice, too, that are probably great as well. -C.

I see Judy Swauger at Park Nicollet in St. Louis Park. I transferred there after a bad experience with someone else, and even after we move to Oakdale I will drive to see her, she's SO nice. I've never felt rushed through like I have with other docs, and she seems to truly remember me every time. (Either that or she takes great notes, but I don't even care- it makes me feel good!)
