Does anyone know of a good practice (doesn't have to be all women, but I want the option of seeing only women)or a female OBGYN near center city. Someone near either Presbyterian or CMC main campus is more what I'm looking for. Also, I would like someone who has rights to deliver at Presbyterian.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I ended up going to Eastover OBGYN who is associated with CMC. And I also saw Dr. Fisher, who is a male doctor, and absolutely loved him! I liked them so much that I think I will stay with these guys and deliver at CMC. I guess plans change sometimes!!

Sounds like this is your first pregnancy right? Mine too - I'm 32 weeks. I just wanted to give you some advice that no one gave me. Think about what kind of delivery you are hoping for and discuss with what ever doctor you choose early on what there feelings are about epidurals, c-sections, etc - many doctors nowadays consider these things the norm, which I didn't realize. I didn't talk with my doctor about this until about 30 weeks and am now in the process of switching practices to find doctors who are more supportive and experienced with natural, vaginal delivery, because that is my preference. I haven't settled on a new doctor just yet, but I can tell you that I have received the most recommendations for Charlotte OB. They are on the CMC campus so normally deliver there. I don't know if they would go to Presby. Let me know if I can help in any other way - H. (____@____.com)

I have to agree with Robin. I love Rankin Women's Center. Dr. Mark Bland is also my doctor and he is absolutely wonderful. I was hesitant about seeing a male, but I had no problem switching to a male doctor after meeting with him. I like most everyone in the practice. Dr. Nancy Palermo actually delivered my son, and I really liked her. I know a couple people who also go to her that LOVE her as well.

Presby is an awesome place to deliver. Highly recommended!

C.,

I recommend Midtown OB/GYN. Dr. Beverly Belle has been my doctor for over 8 years now and has seen me through both my pregnancies. I highly recommend her, and Dr. Heather Robinson-White and Dr. Stacy Wood (who is male) at that practice. They are in the Presby Medical Tower and here is their web address:

Good Luck,

My OBGYN was referred by a friend when I was pregnant with my first child almost 4 years ago. He's great!! His name is Dr. Mark Bland and he is a part of Rankin Women's Center. It is in the Presbyterian Medical Tower downtown and they deliver at Presbyterian.

I have an almost 3 year old and a 9 month old. Both were born at Presbyterian Hospital. I had an excellent experience both times.

Dr. Bland has a wonderful "bedside manner" and he's very caring. Unfortunately, he wasn't the OB on call either time that I delivered, but his partners did an excellent job on both deliveries. Dr. Bomer delivered my first, and Dr. Ward delivered my second (who was 8 weeks early!!!)

I think you will really like that practice. All of these guys were males, but they do have at least two or three women at the practice as well.

Let me know if you need more help.

R. :)
