You could frame pictures and hang them or paint on her walls. Our nursery was Winnie the Pooh theme and my siter and I painted a tree, owl and some honey bees all from floor to ceiling!
I want to decorate my soon to be daughters room but we don't want any vinyl on her walls. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.

I decorated my daughters room with Wallies.com wallpaper cutouts. They have a great selection and are so easy to apply. I used the prepasted ones, so you just wet them and apply.
Many companies sell those rub ons. I used one decorating my sons' room. They are really easy to use and look like paint. You can get them at some Hobby Lobby stores.
Or you can hire a painter or paint stencils yourself.
We went to Michaels, bought tubes of acrylic paint, and painted murals all over my daughter's nursery. Even if you aren't "artsy" (I'm not!) it's a lot of fun, and if you mess up, just paint right over it! We had so much fun with that nursery, and our daughter would wake up from her naps as a baby and lay quietly for a long time staring at her ceiling and walls, taking it all in. Just a thought!
I decorate my daughter's room with calendar pictures. Right now you can buy calendars really cheap. I recommend the nice, think calendars. Pick some pictures that you like and buy cheap frames from the dollar store. Works well for us.
Check out weegallery.com for non-vinyl wall decals. We are happy with the ones we purchased from them. Hope that helps!
We got some really cute decals, from Babies R Us. They weren't vinyl. They don't stick very well, so we used a hair dryer to make them stick better. They come off fine when you want to remove them, too!
